Tips with honor mode - Always steal back your money from Withers. It helps A LOT since you will use him a lot. Have someone speak to him while someone else sneaks up behind him and pick pockets him. Also pick a vendor that is in every act and donate a lot of things for free to him so like that you get a very high approval from them and you will have good items discounted. On mine, I did it with Daemon at the beginning in the grove since he is in every single act.

I definitely think you should give it another go from the start 😈 I'm planning to one day go for honor mode myself, it's one of the few achievements I don't yet have in this game x) but I also relate too hard to the struggling to stick to being prepared... I always start up with the nice *idea* of being prepared but it's too tempting to just run into the middle of inescapable peril 🥺😅 one day I'll be brave like you and try lol! The other thing to remember is to be slow and take your time, kind of mentally plan the battles first before going in. Doesn't always go to plan of course but.... xD Good luck!!

There’s like, a very particular order of things to do in honor mode at early levels. So many tough fights, and you gotta play things really well. This fight is cheeseable with stealth if you don’t shoot the rock outside. They don’t know anything is going on and you can just sneak in.

you could've just blown up the barrel and take care of most of their hp. If u still somehow lost the fight, you could have used the door to escape lmao

Much like my first HM run or three, lol. Here's a fun tip for when the bad guys are funneling towards your party through a door or similar opening is to throw a bottle or two of grease. I like to toss one to make sure the door frame is greased and then another just past to get the further mobs, not only does it cause them to start slipping and falling prone but you can hit it with a firebolt and enjoy the roasting. My biggest tips for HM is always keep everyone buffed with Longstrider and respec Shadowheart as soon as you get Withers, her stats are terribly balanced and Trickery domain is weak af. Light is the most popular choice and my fave as well, but if you want her to be on the frontline then Tempest is my go to for the heavy army and lightening (side tip, Create Water cast on enemies causes "Wet" condition doubling your damage with lightening & cold based spells and puts out burning patches & characters and cleans the blood off them)

In act 1 theres a few places that are absolute run killers if your underleveled, as a rule of thumb i dont like to do any battle in closed spaces before level 4/5. Also, Sanctuary saves lives! Good luck!

so hard only 2.1% completed it... welllllllll I think i'm at my 8th honor run ... I just have the classic syndrome of BG3 of restarting a campaign before finishing the previous one xd, that being said not all of them are still ongoing, I think I have 2 act 3 one and 1 act 2 one still viable.

I will be following this series, I remember when I first tried an honour mode run. It ended very similarly, if you want some tips that are just generally good things to do, not telling you how to play the game, but rather just a good setup for starting the run, so act 1 isnt as dangerous, do let me know. Im not just commenting then so I can make sure rather you want tips or not

I shouldn't laugh, because I have fucked up so many times, but damn the sound effects and the presentation had me cackling so much my husband was like: "Wtf?" I've tried Honour Mode ONCE and I don't remember where I died, because I have the memory of an ADHD goldfish, but die I did. Please continue! I believe in you! Also, the barrels behind the group of people explode beautifully, do some pretty good AoE damage, and apply burning. Good luck!

This is a fun series, looking forward to seeing future runs. The fight where you died also wrecked me on my first playthrough, as someone with zero trpg/crpg exp.

HM is a heck of challenge. If you really prepare, or if you know from past runs, where all the enemies and traps are, or if you are willing to back out and use Withers to revive your dead teammates on a regular basis, then YES you can do it. But it is not so much fun, and games are supposed to be fun, so just load up some mods and charge in with all of your team and enjoy yourself.

I beat HM when it was still 0.9% A few tips. Survival is useless (its just for finding buried chests) most important abilities are perception and persuasion Nothing has a higher movement rate than a strength based monk. (Step of wind removes the "bonus action cost" from jumping. Its insane how far they can move in one turn. Good insurance for escaping a bad encounter. It can even let you completely skip the last two fights before the brain. Bring gale and you can also skip the brain fight. Buy scrolls of "minor globe if invulnerability" whenever you can. 3 or 4 helps make a mockery of myrkul.....the hardest fight you HAVE to fight (cast on party and unload at range, or cast on nightsong to keep herin the fight (be sure not to put myrkul in it). Having an active party member stay in camp is also good insurance vs a wipe, ESPECIALLY in act 1. Always remember you can flee combat!! Having an invis potion or misty step scroll on hand is good for this if you don't have a monk or thief to sprint. 5 levels in berserker, plus 3 levels in theif is awesome for throwing 4 baddies into the abyss each turn or for piling them together on aoe spells. I believe in you! You've got this! (I also romanced Shadowheart; she's my brooding, slightly fanatic, cinnamon roll.) I've beaten the game on tactician and that's about as far as I got. Honour Mode is punishing and it hurts so good. I wish I could give you advice, but the people in the comments have your back!

Honour Mode is dependent on your understanding of the mechanics and the abilities of the enemies in each battle (particularly the bosses with their legendary actions). Take your time, think about the composition of your team and you’ll be grand. Don’t be too worried about making everyone a tank, to be fair, having 2/3 big damage dealers to nova down most of the turn order before they can move is super effective (especially if you give everyone alert as their first feat). You don’t need specific builds, specific weapons - just use what works for you and you can do it 👍🏻

what i did on my HM run is follow the speedrun strats. took me i think 6/7 attempts (mostly cuz i'd screw up in the very beginning) and about 6h in the end. i'd recomend you look up a little guid, the very least for boss fights. also, if only one party member lives you can alwaus revive the others

I’ve done 2 solo HM runs (Tav Sorcerer, Astarion Swords Bard) and 3 HM runs with friends (one was Origin characters only with lore friendly builds). The biggest tip I can give is to look stuff up like builds, content you may have missed in previous playthroughs, how to obtain different gear, how to virtually force success on difficult ability checks, such as Mirror of Loss, etc., and formulate a gameplan that you will stick to. Each character in your party will require different gear, and some gear, like the Risky Ring, is so good that, almost, any character can put it to great use. This means, knowing, in advance, who gets what loot is tantamount to success. I also HIGHLY recommend building at least one party member as a Radiating Orb Cleric and one as a Divination Wizard. This will make life much easier for your first playthrough as they bring utility that cannot be replicated by other classes or magic items.

One tip for winning Honour mode - take Alert feat as soon as possible for your character build. Going first is a tremendous advantage that will serve you well throughout the game. Also looting everything, selling everything and being well stocked at all times provides good safety net. Whether you want to abuse trader restock mechanics too much or not.

I struggle even on tactician level😭 HM is something else!

A couple tips: 1: If you leave an active party member in camp after you free Withers, you can't really wipe since the party member in camp can keep paying Withers to revive everyone. Downside here is fights are a lot harder with only 3 party members rather than 4 so this can deplete your gold. (Unless you pickpocket it back, but that is basically an exploit.) 2: I would recommend respecing all the companions with Withers to give them even stats, as odd stats don't do anything. While your at it, I would also recommend changing Shadowheart's domain if you are going to use her because Trickery is the worst cleric domain. You probably want to give her the produce flame cantrip too, it's usually better than sacred flame.

One thing that’s helped me so far on my honor mode run is to overprepare for EVERY. SINGLE. FIGHT. Like even the fight in the ruins at the very start can be a run ender if you aren’t careful

I've beaten HM twice now and the best piece of advice i can give you is to go slow, dont rush anything and DON'T rush to the bosses, do everything else, then the bosses. they are so much stronger in HM, if you are underleveled or unprepared you have no chance... Good luck!

Also, just saying, in DnD and bg3 some races have the same "abilities" !! : - half-orcs have that one ability that allows them to get up on 1HP instead of being downed - gnomes have "gnome cunning" which gives them advantage on: INT, CHAR, WIS and SAVING THROWS . I personally often opt for the half orc because I always end up dying in stupid situations 😭😭 (Small tip again: half-orc barbarian is overpowered almost directly in dnd because it gives you a high AC and Strengh at level 1 .)
