Parade in Concert w/subtitles
Original videos uploaded by General Danvers: ruclips.net/p/PLVEcAauscwGqWnmvu19PKOXgD7dJ_gW08
I edited all of the parts together into a single video and added subtitles. I also removed the beep/stutter at the transition between videos. Hopefully all this makes the performance more approachable for people who are both familiar with and new to this musical alike. Enjoy! :)
Performed on February 16, 2015.
Original Description:
* Parade in Concert starring Jeremy Jordan and Laura Benanti. Performed at the Avery Fisher Hall, Parade in Concert was a one-night only concert presentation of Jason Robert Brown and Alfred Uhry's Tony-Award winning musical, Parade.
I do not own this video. *

this performance was almost 10 years ago and i had no knowledge of any musical theatre then but now i am in love with this musical and especially this performance. I'll literally never get over this amazing piece of art. Jason Robert Brown is a genius.
Picnic in the country
Living on a farm is my dream !!!
Do you actually think you have 3 videos hidden ? As in I can’t entertain myself
It's almost as if Leo has split personality. Like Norman Bates from Pshyco
Rewatching this musical like the ending will change this time... I swear I'm just one big ball of tension from the moment the police officer rings the doorbell
1:08:19 is nobody gonna talk about this part?!
DID HE NOT DO IT????? IM SO CONFUSED BUT THAT WAS AMAZING
2:13:52
literallt the best ever performance of come up to my office holy shit his voice is so so so strong and clear and amazing
Additional overlapping lyrics at 42:12: "On top of all o' that Right there where you just sat I saw him eat a cat! I know it, yes! I seen it, yes! etc" "He followed me last week He liked my dress, that freak From Velda Jane's boutique I know it, yes! I seen it, yes! etc"

Josh Henry’s feel the rain fall is just ridiculous. What a voice.
After seeing this I looked that case up, it doesn't make sense, knowing the time frame, knowing the attitude of someone wealthy, I would bet he did it. I know they blamed a black guy but nope don't believe at that time frame a black man would do that..
Thank you for putting this together! I've spent what 15 years with this show in my ears (mostly Lara Pulver and Bertie Carvel version) but I still can't help but cry at the end. Also, I didn't know Jason was also a conductor. A man of many talents!
I was in the chorus for this performance and was one of the only people to meet Jeremy Jordan at the after party. This show and that night will be engrained in my mind until the day I die, this show holds a special place in my heart.
This is HOW an opening number should set up a show!
Whoever played jim was fantastic
do my eyes deceive me or is that Ramin Karimloo
He's ramin karimloo
Jeremy Jordan...*chef's kiss* ALWAYS great.
Please exist any chance for upload the archive subtitle, I ask to translate them into my language with the respective credit.

The harmonies for the parts of “Dixie Once again” make my day melt
And the second “again”
Also the second “kneel down to”
why is everyone on book?
It was a concert performance instead of a full musical, so they had less preparation and used their books to keep track.
I love this pairing and I think they sound beautiful! I struggle with this and the current (Ben Platt) revival because it's cast SO young for the role, particularly, of Leo. I know these men make acting their life profession but at some point, they have to relate their performing/expressive choices to something real in their lives... and I don't see it in either man. Brent Carver was 10-15 years older than Jordan/Platt and I think that is what makes his performance indelible and a gold standard for the role.He knew what he was singing about and, somehow, it was real for him. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but it's one area where they don't tick the boxes - but nearly everywhere else, it is perfection!
I mean Leo was only 29 when the killing happened. That's pretty young.
It’s really great to hear you talk about Brent. He’s so often overlooked in favour of Ben and Jeremy. He was fifteen years older than Leo, played him very quiet and gentle, used his native Canadian accent yet you still totally believed the character. A truly gifted actor who doesn’t get the recognition he deserves.
To each their own but Ben and Micaela are very similar in age to Lucille and Leo’s age when it happened, as was Jeremy in this performance. But it is very refreshing to hear a different perspective after all the talk about casting having to be accurate to age because I do agree with you for the most part
No one's mentioning Ramin just casually *in the ensemble*
Just finished this and I am so depressed and traumatized
Who sang the young soldier in the opening here?
I was in the ensemble for this, one of the greatest experiences of my life
Does anyone have the full cast list for this?
This is the best version of All The Wasted Time I’ve ever been emotionally wrecked by. The higher key to accommodate their beautiful voices also managed to move me in a new way like the song originally did when I first heard it decades ago
Came back to this in celebration of Parade (2022) winning multiple Tony’s
Joshua Henry stopped the damn show... TWICE ❤
Who is the older soldier in the opening??! Wow!
Knowing what happens, the way he says “IS SOMEBODY DEAD?” Hurts my soul. And I love sad musicals. On just my first watch, this is quickly becoming a favorite.
Alex Joseph Grayson is killing it in the current production as Jim Conley (he should have been nominated for a Tony), but seeing Joshua Henry play the role in a full production would be pretty cool too.
It’s the half-assed sweeping for me. 😂 love JH
an incredible performance of a story that has (sadly) never lost its relevance. I'm glad the show has been revived on broadway now too -- we need to keep telling stories like this until there isn't a need to anymore.
I feel the same about Spring Awakening. The original playbook (Frülings Erwachen) was written between 1890-1891 and is still heavily relevant today. It's sad, things like this don't change with the times.
I would add Cabaret and Ragtime to this list of musicals that (sadly) need to be retold over, and over.
Jeremy Jordan knows just how to rip our hearts out in the best way. He portrays Leo so well as a man full of anxiety whose straight-lacedness might come off clipped to those that don't know him. I love Jeremy in everything he's in but his portrayal of Leo Frank has a special place in my heart 😭🤌🏼
Jason's very last cut off just ....... FLOORED me!!!!!!!! I MEAN............
01:36:22 there will never be a better rendition than this one.
1:09:22 a time stamp for my favorite song
I've just watched this musical for the first time and the ending really broke my heart. I just couldn't believe that they really killed an innocent man, I kept thinking that thered be a moment where he'd be saved, but no. It's so powerful because it shows such an ugly truth.
Christ on a cracker, when the orchestra cuts out at 7:10 and everyone sings "home", I can't even begin to explain the emotion it invokes.
When that going to happen?
I just watched this for the first time five days ago. i have probably watched this at least six times since then. this is now my favorite musical
April Fool !
1:04:46 - “That’s What He Said”, in case anyone is looking for it!
Thank you! This whole show, but especially this song gives me such complicated feelings. It's such a good song and Joshua Henry does AMAZING, but the topic is so tragic.
