      You can see in their other video that they had a Chinese 240V plug on their S19. So I guess why bother paying extra for bigger plug, bigger breaker and thicker wire for a 50amp box when 20amp will do. If they even have the capacity in their service for two more 50a breakers and complying with code.

    Do you take out the PSU fans? Also, wondering how you get a water tight seal with the heat at 40+C Any redundancy in case of pump failure or leak? Does it shut-down the miner?

    • @BackyardBitcoin
      @BackyardBitcoin 8 месяцев назад

      Yes you must take out the PSU fans. I’ve always been a little worried about my aquarium seals leaking with the temps, But so far it hasn’t been an issue. I have an Inkbird temp sensor in the coolant with a set high/low range that gives me notifications to my phone if something were to go wrong. Worst case I’m not around, the miners have auto overheat shutdowns built in..but of course you never want it to come to that.

      @@BackyardBitcoinYes, im looking to house approx 8x KS3 miners (3.3kw) total, so about 33KW at 80%. I think I would go with a welded stainless tank. Im not sure I like the idea of pumping the oil through to the dry cooler though, I would prefer a local heat exchanger design to keep the oil side minimized with fewer potential pain points. Ive been investigating DCX and Fog hashing options. I think I would want some redundancy in my pump setup or at least a way to auto-shutdown the rigs if the temps are too high. My setup would have the dry cooler outside through a wall, similar to how mini-split AC's are setup.

    the best thing for acrylic, especially if you can lasercut the acrylic, is acrylic cement.... it is not an adhesive at all, it fuses the acrylic, as in, it basically chemically melts/welds the seam together. Nothing to interact with the coolant. you're only left with welded acrylic. The reason i mention lasercutting is because it'd be the absolute cleanest edge for welding. If you use a rough cutting tool like a table saw, you might get a textured cut making a clean weld difficult.

    What's up bro I'm talking about Brazil and here we don't have DIY videos for this subject. I'm impressed. Three questions: Has the noise decreased much? Why didn't you submerge the entire asic? Do I need to do any preparation on the asic before diving into the oil? (in addition to removing the coolers). Thank you very much! Brazilian greetings!

    • @BackyardBitcoin
      @BackyardBitcoin 9 месяцев назад

      Thank you! Greetings🇧🇷 1. Yes immersion cooling is completely silent, the only noise you will have is from your heat exchanger fan. 2. This is one of my earlier builds, I have since modified the hot/cold side divider to be a couple Inches higher to completely submerge both asics. This is actually very important for optimal heat dissipation. If it’s too short, the hot oil can pool up and cause poor flow. 3. You will need to remove the all of the fans and get fan spoofers to trick the asics into thinking the fans are running. You plug them into where the fans plug into. I do have all of the supplies to build a another complete system if you are interested as well or I can send you the just the parts for a DIY build. I have another heat exchanger, pump, tank, fittings, etc. Hope this helps out! Let me know if you have any more questions or need any parts for your builld.

    Hi Jordy, Very interesting setup! Question? How do the miners create a perfect seal on top of the cold side? Or do you just use the weight of the miners?

    • @BackyardBitcoin
      @BackyardBitcoin Год назад

      Hey, thanks! I adjusted the carriage bolts so that they are lined up flush with miner. By no means a “seal” but it’s flush, so next to nothing escapes out the sides. I don’t put the weight of the miners directly on them as it may cause the flow plate to break. If you have 2 of the same miners I’d recommend one solid piece along the bottom with flow holes, as it’s much stronger. I had to get creative as my miners are different sizes.

    • @SupermestRain32
      @SupermestRain32 Год назад

      @@BackyardBitcoin Thankyou for the clarification. I am currently in the designing stages of making my own immersion cooling system all from stainless steel plating. I was thinking of putting in a rubber seal on the flow plate which bolts onto the miners via the fan screw holes, creating a perfect seal. the design will also feature a sealable lid on top of the tank to prevent contamination. instead of am immersion pump, it will just have a welded on external barb fitting on the hot side, where the pump will connect too. Similar concept for the cold side aswell.
