you have some tasty tracks. i've been practicing soloing and it actually sounds like it fits. that minor pentatonic is like magic on everything. i struggle to see how the major would even be use although i sprinkles some notes here and there.

when I play along in E minor with some slight changes it works, what isthe reason for this?
The CMaj7 chord contains an Eminor triad so there’s shared chord tones. Or another way to look at it is that E minor and A minor (relative minor of C Maj) share all the same notes except one.
it’s one of the pentatonic shapes the fourth i think c major is the same as a minor and a minor shapes include a modified e minor shape
