I’m well past the age of anything modified, but fair play to you ones of the younger generation , But I’d like to add something if I was going to buy one of these to modify and get a 1.0 because my insurance would be too high to get anything with a bigger engine size ie under 20 yrs old lol I’d buy a new engine (there’s bound to be plenty about. I’ve been an accident and you can so we do the engine) I’d concentrate on that buy strengthening the bottom end, conrods and pistons , then look at what cam’s could be fitted and have the head worked on porting and polishing it , Then get a bigger turbo , It seems like people like to spend a lot of money on mods that seem expensive these days It seems like just taking you go somewhere and I had it plugged into a computer is the way forward these days lol Truth be told thinking about it, I’m pretty sure if he’s willing to spend the money you could make one of these absolutely fly …… for a 1.0 that is , What? naughty ford's have put the timing belt inside the engine. it breaks down the rubber on this belt going through all that oil. this then blocks your oil pump. happened to me.had to have engine stripped down to teplace the belt and pump. watch out for an 'oil pressure' warning on your dashboard on start up
