My life changed too when I started doing this and putting money in stocks. The first few years it as really great, but this year I haven't felt like my portfolio is doing well. I have lost more than $40,000 from my portfolio the past four months, and it's now very worrisome.

well right off the bat i dont understand the very begining of your vid. you start of , lesson 1 lesson 2 lesson 3 on the chart, how can lesson 3 be way back near lesson 1 and no where near lesson 2, i am already lost just with that...

Another reason lot of people don't try it is because they don't have the bankroll to get started. Realistically you need at least 10k. That lets you in the game with stocks around $100 . You csn get decent premiums in that range. Of course the more you have the more you can pick the more lucrative stocks with high IV and premiums.

I just found out about this a month ago and immediately started writing calls. I got just over 5% in one single month. I can't believe that. This is great. The only problem is that there's no way to compound that monthly because the 5% gain I got can't even buy 100 shares of any decent stock. So it's great for making money, but unfortunately, it's not viable for compounding when you don't have much money.

i dont think everyone has 100 of a stock which is the minemum you need to sell a Covered Call.

By adding money weekly to my brokerage from my paychecks and writing calls usually 2 weeks to a month out, I have more than doubled an already 6 figure account in about 9 months. Telling people my strategy gets a multitude of reactions from how complicated it sounds to how it seems too good to be true. The best thing I ever did was make a few excel spreadsheets that track my total investment if the stock falls. Great videos, subscribed!

I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. You can also do BOTH simultaneously. I have for years. If you sell both an OTM call and an OTM put at time X, ONE of those WILL expire worthless. And if one goes up in price, the other goes down, and you have depreciating theta working for you with BOTH options until expiration. So that way in your example for Apple, you'd have made ALL that put premium, and the overall profits on the stock (minus some losses on the options if you rolled them). The really nice thing about stock options is all the combinations that are possible, and how they can be exploited with time and patience, as long as you don't get greedy with position sizes, and are willing to buy or sell some stock around the edges of a position.

When you made this video two years ago Chargepoint was like 25 dollars a share. Now it's 1.65 a share. Lessons to be learned for anyone trading.

Just do the Wheel and gravitate to ITM or barely OTM PUTs so that you maximize the amount of time you're then selling Covered Calls. I don't see a reason to just buy it outright when you can get paid to buy it with the PUTs.

Buy an in the money cash secured put during a strong pullback to enter for sure and get premium.

You are exactly right. I don't quite understand why no one else seems to get this idea. To back up your point, the mathematical ideal situation for us as call writers is this: sell a call with one week expiration and get called out. Do it again the next week. Get called out. And so on. That gives one the highest mathematical return you can get even with sleepy stocks. Of course, it won't work exactly this way in real life, but it does make your point.

Starting 2022 January none of the strategy would work untill 2023 May...

YOU ANSWERED MY LONG LASTING QUESTION!!!!!! I just wanted to know if im actually losing physically money when getting assigned. As long as my avg cost is lower than the strike price im assigned at, then im good. All this "potential losses' everyone was saying made it seem like i was losing money.

What about the return after taxes? Rolling helps defer taxes!!
