Workshop update and the future of Scale Models and Figurines.
To be fair...
thank you for sharing, the revell one is not available anymore, is it the same airfix?
pannel lines need filling
Very good explanations! I am building the same model according to your videos. Now I need part 11, but cannot find it...
So the moral of thus video appears to be... revel kits are abysmal....to which i agree... Worse than revel are. Heller
Rfm is excellent, mostly accurate, lots of parts, u need to do research on colors, lots of colors, 3 months project Make sur u fox all the injection marks for interior befor u start
. +
A good practice is to dry fit your parts first before gluing into place just incase you get the fit wrong and then mess up the paint work you have already done in previous steps !
You need to clean the paint off the surfaces that you are gluing together with liquid cement because it melts the 2 faces together to make a bond and the paint stops this from working correctly !
It is a very nice kit - the only thing I found fault with is the funnel. Unfortunately the height of the main shroud (the bit that’s painted red or white originally) is too short in relation to the black central funnel piece. I modified this when I built this kit about 16 years ago and overall the model looks really nice when built. It’s interesting that the box artwork shows her as she was after the 1987 refit, with the newer funnel. However the kit itself still seems to be of the pre-refit ship with the original funnel and lido decks. Hope you enjoyed building it!
i quite enjoy the build when things do not quite fit . i make them fit. Part of the fun . if i wanted a 100% fit i would purchase a Jigsaw puzzle
Too much build off camera
Sorry this is such a new message but I feel I have to say this… your attention to detail is, in my humble opinion, breathtaking🤓🤓🤓 seriously it is to be commended 🙏🙏🙏 I’m just waiting for mine to be delivered so am watching all the build videos I can and I must say yours is wonderful. We get to see exactly how fiddly this kit is but my goodness is it a stunning aircraft kit 😍😍😍 I’d also like to say that I hope your dialysis is going well for you. I couldn’t help seeing a rather rude man saying something completely negatively and disrespectfully so I’m glad you put him in his place 👍😂😉 Again apologies for only just replying to this wonderful video build 😔😔😔 but you have a wonderful wife who spoils you rotten… and rightly so 🤪🤪🤪 she’s definitely a keeper 😉😍👍👍👍👍👍👍
The zero didnt carry bombs at pearl Harbor attack, but did so later in the war
Great videos on how to make this model Well done. Where can I buy this model and the upgrade kit please
Nice video! Helps me a lot.
I really like your video but more than 50% it's out of focus. Please do something in future. Thank you
Are we missing a video between the intro and this, part I?
Thanks for the update just bought one oh dear
I had this for Christmas in the early 70's when i was maybe 11-13 and it was very satisfactory for the main people it was aimed at, - like me. It was certainly easier than some of the other AirFIX ships which could be a right mess to build. Your construction looks fine to me, except for the painting, where more practice is required in technique, control of the brush and use of masking tape - any lack of detail in the old model can be overcome by that.
hello, I haven't seen anything from you in a few years. are you on a different channel? I just bought a Heller Concorde model and looking forward to finishing it. I appreciate what you did with the Revell model. Hope all is well.
very nice work there - I am about to finally get on and start mine, it's taken me years to find the strength and patience to make all the alterations that are needed on this model. Was there a reason you left the front undercarriage in the wrong position? Braz Resin shall one day be producing a corrected nose cone and visor for this kit but I've given up waiting for this and shall be making a best effort to correct the visor. Well done to you for enduring all the filling etc - she's turned out very nicely.
I honestly was not great at building back then so I probably glued it in the wrong position haha. Good luck with your build.
Nice video. Could’ve done without the bit on the Concorde.
Currently building the same kit, these videos are pretty helpful. Still surprised how anyone could get the mechanism for the nose in there when mine literally snapped twice (one time I could reglue it, then another time it was irreperably damaged). Seriously screwed the glue around those windows too while yours look so clean... but this really is an awful set to build, especially for a pretty much beginner like me.
How much
The Mercedes Star is apparently based on a mark used by Gottlieb Daimler to mark his house on a map of the town of Deutz. Mercedes Jelenik was the daughter of Emil Jelenik (the Swiss Benz Importer and a big buyer of Benz cars in the 20s and 30s) The road vehicles became 'Mercedes' Benzs in her honour. In case you were wondering 😀
NULLE la vidéo !!!!
Well done. I like the colours you used.
I had the same problem you did with the fuselage fit. Do you think that this is a Tamiya engineering problem or is it an assembly mistake I made somewhere during the building process that caused the engine/cockpit not to fit into the two fuselage half’s properly? I would love to have your thoughts about this issue. Thank you.
Again, wonderful.
Very good.
I removed the centre of all the internal fuselage walls ( finger holds ).. Remove top fuselage antenna ( refit when almost finished ) Assemble fuselage ( Was bent like a Banana ) then assemble front wheel well from the inside ... I would not recommend this kit to any builder .. The kit was given to me , Not wanted or it was the bin ..
Best of luck ...
I really like this video. You brilliantly bounce back and are able to correct small mishaps. Again, I like your work.
Excellent. The photography is outstanding. Thank you.
This is very good. Very enjoyable. Thank you.
I've always thought there should have been a suitcase handle, on the roof of those things!
Cant beleive you never saw the rear pushrod tube was upside down and left it!!!
I’m actually building this kit now (non-anniversary edition, but same chassis, engine, etc.) Did you have any trouble fitting the body down over the completed chassis and engine area? Seems like it’s going to be extremely challenging… any tips or heads-up would be appreciated. 👍🏻
Sorry for the very late reply the body was a pig to get on.
Really enjoying watching your build of this iconic car, but I have to say I really felt your frustration on this part of the build, but its credit to you that you didn't cut and re film and you showed warts and all, which I have to say was refreshing, you watch these builds and they look super easy and hold together with no glue and fit perfect every time with a gentle click, yeah right!! welcome to the real world, so thank you for showing exactly how the build went for you and the mistakes included, I feel that maybe I'm not that bad at model building after all and that I'm not the only one that makes mistakes, its what you do to rectify the mistake that matters and keep calm, personally after damaging the decal on the tyre I would have chucked the kit out the window set fire to it and buried it in a big hole in the ground, but next time I'll try and keep as calm as you 🙂keep to the honest kit builds and I'll keep watching, I'm sure this car will look awesome when its finished.
What kind of quick drying glue do you use? And thin extender tip? How do you maintain with clogging? Going to attempt this model with all upgrades but have never used quick dry glue. Thanks
Started to build this kit a week ago. Thanks for the vid....helpful. Noticed in one of your subsequent vids you had trouble fitting the engine.....what caused this?
Hello this paint is not ok on tank
This is indeed a precision kit with loads of fine detail, especially the engines meant to be displayed. Unfortunately a very obvious omission, the very prominent cooling pipes from the header tank to the rear of the cylinder head. A serious error by Tamika? What is surprising after all this time, there is not yet an after-market supply of this part. Certainly needed to complete this, otherwise superb model
I know this is a very old review now but I am looking at it as I am half way through building this kit at the moment and need some encouragement to stop me throwing the whole thing away. As you say nothing fits. I have done more filling and sanding than I would have done painting a full size car body. Having fought the nose and the wing joints I am now fighting the engines, the sections don't fit each other and also the engines don't fit the trailing edge of the wings and there is a horrible step, so more filling and contouring. I've also found the panel lines very ill defined and soft and not lining up across the joints of the parts. I must say though you have made a very good job of building this model and I am now determined to finish mine. All in all I think this is the worst kit I have ever made and could not recommend it to anyone.
Amzin g model. You réaliséd i have old model kawa ans harley with side car ..... A such patience of détails with mini wrench. Its a masterpiece.. Of tamiya.. I send you all my respect to you. Laetitia. From. Belgium pianist... And hobbies of models too..
The cylinder is a fire extinguisher, the lever is for seat height adjustment, and the yellow discs indicate armour plating, an aid when adjusting the compass. Why not do a little research on the models you are building, sometimes the manufacturer gets it wrong.
very good work but it needs wiring and do you research and learn the bits you are fitting MOSSY is one of my fav im building the tamiya 1/48 scale at the moment
Great video, keep up the great work. Liked and subscribed :)
I know its been a while since you did this but do you recall if you put a clear coat over any of the carbon fiber decals?
