I live in Prague my whole life and never have i seen gun in the hands of some random person. Just police but other than that i never saw a real gun, never met a person that has a gun. So we are not like USA from my experience
I think a better question is "Why are we not allowed in other European countries to Carry Guns and knives?" I should have the right to own and carry whatever I want after completing licence checks!
how is the situation for eu citizen that just live in czech republic without having a czech passport?
The more free the gun ownership and personal property rights are, more democratic a country is.
They have to get permission from the police lmao
In the Czech republic there are four categories of weapons: soldiers, policemen, hunters, and collectors. The fifth category is mages who run around the forest and play soldiers with air guns.
bcuz who the hell woudn't esp in more ghetto places, people should have the right to protect themselves.
Texas vs. Czechia: A Comparison of Firearm Ownership The process of obtaining firearms in Czechia is vastly different from that in Texas or the USA as a whole. Here, acquiring the right to own a firearm requires significantly more time, education, training, and involvement to secure a license. Additionally, firearms in Czechia often cost 2-3 times more than their counterparts in the United States, creating a financial barrier that prevents widespread ownership. Appreciation for Local Dedication I want to express gratitude to the dedicated individuals in my country who volunteer their time, effort, and money without expecting anything in return. In contrast, the USA has organized military reserves that provide annual training and monetary compensation, with members ready to be called upon for national defense. While the Czech military operates on a smaller scale, its members are well-trained and prepared, particularly for NATO missions. These efforts ensure readiness for evolving military and conflict conditions, despite limited historical involvement beyond Czech borders. Addressing Naive Assumptions About Self-Defense The statement in the video, "In the 21st century, we shouldn't have to defend ourselves," is fundamentally naive. It disregards human nature and historical precedent. Even now, the world faces threats from terroristic nations, terrorist "faith" driven crazy attackers, and other malicious individuals-issues that have plagued societies throughout history. While diplomacy and peace treaties mark the end of conflicts, the right to protect oneself, one’s family, and one’s nation should remain non-negotiable. Some leftist ideologies assume that the 21st century is uniquely progressive or exempt from the dangers of the past. This perspective ignores historical and natural realities. Human conflicts and aggression are not bound by time; they are part of the broader animal kingdom. Efforts to suppress self-defense rights undermine fundamental liberties and demonstrate a lack of understanding of history and basic human psychology. Concerns About Propaganda and Erosion of Readiness I am more concerned about nations that manipulate education, spread propaganda, and promote hostility toward others. In such places, individuals are deprived of basic self-defense rights, yet later find themselves conscripted into militaries wielding AK-47s to attack "enemies." These patterns can be observed in media from non-democratic countries with long histories of aggression on every day basis, while today the internet is so strong media giving us the possibility to taste the results of such "leadership". The Risk of Self-Destructive Liberalism: If unchecked liberalism continues to rise in Europe, we risk losing the very values worth defending. Radical policies-such as banning gas-powered vehicles, firearms, and ammunition-are steps toward self-destruction. This mindset is reminiscent of certain UN discussions (lately for instance with Israel, whom proudly defending their people and land being nearly on daily bases required to develop and enhance the capability to intervene against constant attacks), where lofty ideals about peace dominate, yet practical solutions for maintaining or defending peace are conspicuously absent. Protecting peace and values requires action, not just rhetoric talks.
There are 316 thousand registered Gun licences (out of 11 milion citizens) most of those are for hunting and sport.
pls don't use our country as a rhetoric to your own agenda
As a Czech living in Prague, I don't know anyone who carries a gun on them. Most gun owners are hunters and use it for hunting game. Also, since there's is almost no gun crime, there's no need to carry a gun at all.
*No immigrants.
Im Czech, and i honestly had no idea that ppl can have firearms like that. I dont know anyone who has a gun. But i guess that's just my social bubble than. I just dont feel like i need it, just like i dont need a driving license. That must sound wild to actual Texans lol
kozplejerka
And against who you actually need to apply this self-defense you are talking about? Only against shit with gun, against someone like you.
What a clown, shows you live under a rock and never been in a dangerous situation if you believe this.
Absolutely very well said. Laws against drugs trade have never stopped drugs trading as well as laws forbidding firearms ownership have never stopped criminals from owning and using firearms, however, they prevented honest people from owning firearms for their defense.
For english people 119/2002 Coll., on Firearms and Ammunition (the "Firearms Act"). The latter states that the weapons which can normally be carried are category B and D short weapons, but under the condition of concealed carry. While the law does not precisely define the concept of concealed carry of a weapon, it is nevertheless interpreted as a prohibition on visible carry.
This is really overselling the volume of armed citizens in Czechia, it's basically zero next to Texas.
This is what real freedom looks like. You can have guns, but 99% of people or more dont carry them and will never need them in their whole life. In my 38 years of life I have never been in a situation where a gun would be handy, but if people are responsible and have good gun discipline, dont use it while drunk for example, I have nothing against it. And if more people had guns, the worst shooting in our history which happened last year, would most likely had fewer victims.
Czechia and Slovakia have the same gun laws I hnow a lot of people with guns here in Slovakia from small fireamrs to smg, sniper rifles... I am more cold arms oriented .. katana, bow, knives, swords =)
That is pure bullshit! there is niether a constitutional law nor any other laW in czech rep. allowing people to carry firearms... there is not a single state having a right to bare firearms straight like in the US... Im czech medical doctor and generally a not badly educated person so I feel like there is some merit behind this text... In contrast to US idiotic gun freedom in here at least a person must: 1) be of age.... 2) Go thru a medical examination to their general practitioner (like myself) who knows at least most of the persons medical history (apart from stuff the person feels but doesnt let the doctor know... ) then the doctor examines the patient and if he finds him/her able - he gives him a document with which the person goes to appropriat licenced firing lector - pays for lessons - makes the final practical and teoretical tests and then goes with whole that documentation to local officials to get the licence to bare arms... then he can obtain a gun which he must register on himself depending on the class of licence and can again carry it depending on type of licence he has.... ALSO - while it is true that our society is being slowly americanized... You would still at absolute most find a licence on 5% of population in the most extreme... aaand from that 5% ther would be less then 1% actually daily carring a gun... Im not totally against guns, Im just saying this is totally misleading ... (Had plenty of friends with guns in my life... cops, soldiers... curently 80% of them ended up blowing their brains out in state of depresion... )
Actually, I talked with guy who wrote that law back in 90's, he put that right to bear arms there, because there was idea of personal freedom of people against state, witch was very popular after communist dictatorship felt in 1989. And this sense of personal freedom is dating culturally back to those Hussites revolution in 15th century.
If you value Freedom a highly recommend you check out the Documentary called Mark Passio and the science of Natural Law. Everyone has the Universal Right(an action that does not harm another sentient being) to have the means to deffend themselves.
as old saying goes, its better have gun and dont use it, then NEED a gun and DONT have it!! and this goes back to Husits
You dont know whats freedom is, until you move to Europe.
Europe ? Its not a country, in England you cant even have a knife
I'd like to point out that Czechia is not safe because everyone owns guns. Actually it's unlikely to even meet civilian with a gun in public. IMHO Rather it's the culture, healthy common sense among the Czechs and efficient law enforcement that arrives within minutes basically everywhere.
I own homemade Guns, Better Than nothing.
love and support from hungar, rest of europe could just learn from you!
Des tscheques qui ne s'expriment pas dans leur langage ça ne m'intéresse pas. Adios.
It actually surprises me that more countries don't make it legal for their citizens to freely own firearms, especially the smaller ones. there is no surer way of freely having a large number of ready fighters in case of a conflict, not to mention having a bunch of people who are already armed to some degree. I mean, can you imagine some country trying to invade the US? It wouldn't be just the military they would have to deal with but a bunch of relatively skilled shooters armed with all sorts of rifles.
It's a myth that Texas is the most gun friendly state. It's not even in the top 10 states with gun ownership per capita. People forget, Texas has a lot of very large cities where most of the population lives. Rural states like my own home state of Arkansas have majority of people owning guns. Gun owners are a minority in Texas, believe it or not.
Best country in Europe hands down.
Doesn't sound like much of a right if you have to get the government's permission.
every right is basicaly the goverments permission
that mk18 daniel defense aint no joke. very impressed with her rifle of choice.
Ive alwayays wanted to visit the Chezck Republic and now i want to go even more. I knew about slovakias gun culture and Norways but i had no idea the chezcks had such a good atittude twords gun rights
So hypothetically if I wanted to carry a longsword... would it be legal?
Absolutely.
yes why not, you can here, just dont act like an idiot with it scaring people and yes you can carry it
@MrMajsterixx what about full medieval plate armour
@@Smith_clips223 anything
@@Smith_clips223 Thats what I wear everyday to work
why do you need guns when you have the police? well why do you use fire extinguishers when you have firefighters. anti gunners are stupid
This is useless, these countries are already safe, but one day a mental ill will do something bad with this privilege
Czech Republic has the best weapon laws in the world. Guns are not available to everyone, but anyone, who is not criminal, don't suffer with mental illness, is adult and who will be successfull in the theoretical and practical exams, can have it. All legal guns are registered by the police. It is much better, than to have many unregistered and uncontrolled weapons in the public. Logic is simple and right, because anyone, who really wants a gun, can have it from the black market. And the legal way is the best.
krteček in the back
While western europe has hard guns control and can't finish with violence problems and terrorism, CZ has less violence and more firearms. My respect to Czech Republic!
"I don't need it". The 8 Somalians that want your stuff and wife also agree
As a Russian weapons enthusiast, I am sincerely glad that the Czech state trusts its own population, unlike other EU and CIS countries. I myself am the owner of Grand Power T12 Fm 2, which is a traumatic version of Grand Power K100, an excellent gun!
That's awesome. It really is the TX of Europe!
Imagine you see a guy bend to tie his shoe laces and you see sawed off double barrel and 2 HE nades on his waist 😂
Other than self defense, most commonly touted, why do you need a firearm? Criminals also say self-defense. From other's than themselves, and they're right too on that. So what makes a firearm important? That's right. Power. Self defense is a BS excuse. It's about sports, the power that you have that comes from a gun. That's the truth. Everybody knows it. We just excuse it with all sorts of other things. A spear is also used for self defense against a sabretooth tiger, but in the hands against of another human being, is it still self defense? It's just power. Doesn't matter who wields the gun. Glock didn't care if he invented the gun and it was used by both criminals and police/morally righteous people both alike, he sold a product, a tool, and it was just that. At the end of the day, ban guns, but you can't ban the human mind. Which is what they're trying to bloody do.
not reading allat bullshit shut your mouth anti gun loser
Ok list for other reasons why people own a firearm besides self defense: Recreational Shooting, Sports Shooting, Hunting, Collecting, Heritage and tradition, Pest Control, Employment, Historical Preservation, Hobby Gunsmithing, Cultural Identity, Political Advocacy, Artistry, Investment, Education and Training, Ceremonial Use, Wildlife Conservation, and DIY engineering. Banning guns won’t prevent violence, it’ll cause criminals to find other ways to commit violence.
17:06 wait, is this how you can walk around in czechia?
I went on vacation in Prague. Beautiful city and the local people are very nice. Hope this amazing country stays the same!
Love that DD Mk18 :)
This is how it should be in every country!
So if USA republic failed, i should move to Czech.
