As far as I know, it's still the only recording Ditko ever did.

When you read that Jack Kirby did no layouts or draft scripts before creating each comic you realize he was a genius. When you hear what he thought comics could be, one day , you realize he was prophetic. Still the greatest American comic book artist ever.

Originally had this on VHS and watched it at least 100 times. The insights from everyone is amazing, esp. Ditko and Kirby.

Eisner was my cartooning teacher, he never once stopped admiring himself in class.

This is amazing, and having Harlan is the cherry on top. I gotta say though that Ditko's Ayn Rand proselytizing was off-putting.

If you go to about the 20th minute into this video, you actually hear Steve Ditko’s voice as he narrates his thoughts on the human persona, right vs wrong, hero vs villain & many other philosophical ideas Ditko lived by. Ditko was an extreme recluse! Very few pictures of him exist. He never went to any comic shows, EVER! Her wanted nothing to do with Spider-Man after he left Marvel. He was a forward thinker & would never dwell on the past. Interesting guy!

Mr. A and Two Face seems alike with their views on who lives or who dies kind of scenario by letting either a card with two different sides of color as opposed to a two sided coin with one head of the coin scratched off, to determin the fate of one individual. Wow what similarities these characters are. Kirby's art with his machines in comics are intresting and cool looking, especially his idea of Galactus being a god as for Silver Surfer a cherubim angel whom in the Bible God had created in the book of Ezekiel, which to me is the origin story of Lucifer and how he was created by God and how his iniquity was found in him by God, which led to Lucifer to have fallen from heaven. Haven't read or owned DCs New Gods by Kirby, but might as well pick up a copy because of his art and story. Never gave much thought or care, but just to shift a change to what's out there to give it a chance to learn about the comicbook would probably change my mind to be able to enjoy something new and different. Cool comic history and take from all of these great artists in the interviews. Comes to show that we as comicbook readers and collectors we cannot take this hobby for granted and to appreciate what is given to us as fans of the hobby to enjoy and like to what inspires us as a community to the hobby. Cool interviews and review of this classic video.

Amazing to see and hear these artists in their prime. Some are no longer with us, so it's nice to have this record.

Ditko really needed therapy.

David Sim craps on escapism and advocating talking heads but then goes on to talk about his cartoon aardvark who’s a barbarian, tax collector and pope. He just comes off as pretentious to me.

It's a shame that this was made after Wally Wood died. He is easily one of the best, if not the best artist, the comic book medium gave us and should be recognized as such.

What a great documentary! I am very familiar with all these creators and their work but their insight and approach to the medium makes me admire them even more. My greatest surprise was Bernie Wrightson - not what I pictured at all!

Absolute Masters Geniuses made Comics As Good as they were So many Fantastic Comics📙💭There Art was So Beautiful even while having to deal with editors and writers giving them a bit of trouble sometimes worse I wish there were more American Indian Comics there were So many Cowboy ones and for what American Indians were in it it wasn't Accurate sometimes laughable

Wow, they have the *great* Harlan Ellison hosting. For those who don't know, Ellison wrote several episodes of the Twilight Zone and was a very prolific short story/sci fi writer. Ellison was famously ripped off his whole life, mostly by James Cameron, especially the Terminator. Check him out.

I found the most modesty from the MASTER MOEBIUS, oh why is the Universe so cruel that I cannot meet the man, his work is a blessing to humanity and sequential art.
