      That is how it is sometimes with us too. Mosquitoes just find us and feast on us and then it is too late to put on anything on the skin.

      Of course, got to support the local business. We are on the road system, not exactly in the forest.

    That is a great idea on the cutting board to use artificial turf to hold the fish and not have it move around. I never really thought about that.

    When using a grinder to cut the metal roof the metal get to warm and destroy the rust protection. Use a nibbler or a scissor. To get a wall without a cold bridge you can use 2x2 horizonal on the outside for insulation, no need to use plywood only tyvek outside the 2x2 and then you can have a ventilated wall, using wood panel and you save money when not using plywood

    • @FarOutAlaska
      @FarOutAlaska Месяц назад

      I'm more concerned with not dying than future corrosion potential. Can't imagine fighting a pair of tin snips for 14 ft while holding on for dear life :) The plywood sheathing was indeed expensive as hell. But Ive built this cabin to be extremely rigid in case of ground movement from permafrost and seasonal frost heaving. I think the 5/8 plywood laid horizontal contributes a lot of stiffness to the building. I do plan to fur out the inside wall for a thermal brake as well as making an easy space to run electrical and plumbing. Will probably also fur out the exterior before siding goes up. Thanks for the tips and thanks for watching!

    • @FarOutAlaska
      @FarOutAlaska Месяц назад

      Agree 100%. But I got caught in the big lumber gouge and the cost of t&g was ridiculous. Even using 2x6 framing lumber was insanely expensive but it was the cheapest way to get it sheathed with the look I wanted.

    One idea i had for tie down points in the bed was to run a length of chain from the front tie down point to the rear, then you have basically unlimited points to hook up chains or bungee cords to secure cargo. It was a game changer and made me smack my head for taking so long to think of it.

    • @FarOutAlaska
      @FarOutAlaska 2 месяца назад

      Excellent idea. I'm going to use that on our utility trailer. They never come with enough time down points. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for hanging out!

    Wear thick clothing and mosquito netting over your head and hat , you can also use lemon eucalyptus oil to rub on skin that lasts about 3 hours. Eating garlic , and garlic pills helps too if you don't mind the smell when the garlic comes out your pours. Thank you for your video.

    I have not seen a Casita with no roof A/C since I had my old 84 Liberty Deluxe years ago. As you state, they are all si ilar in construction and design. My 84 shared 90% of your 2007 model. Great little white egg. Sometimes I wish I still had it. Great review, and thanks for sharing.
