Can anyone explain to me how this works?
If you tap the frets hard enough, it’ll make noise, and its easier with high gain/distortion like what zakk is using. Same idea with tapping (like Eddie Van Halen). You can see him lift his fingers up and tap the frets every time he wants to emulate the “picking effect”

We should not compare musicians when they are at this level, they all have a style and they are well accomplished. You may say Eddie is the best, someone says Slash, next guy says John5, why? They are all phenomenal and we will all lose something when they leave this earth, we just lost EVH.
