Qualche anno fa, per motivi personali, capitai qualche giorno a Palermo, dove organizzai tra l'altro un incontro con un musicista straordinario, una persona speciale di Agrigento Raimondo Davide Di Liberto ...Da quel momento diventammo quasi due fratelli...Suonammo anche insieme...Oggi , a sua insaputa pubblico una sua idea musicale dove con tanto amore ho messo il mio contributo con le tastiere, invitando un altro musicista elegante dal Giappone : Hiro Nogunogu (ha inserito un caldissimo sax e ha anche creato uno splendido video..Grazie anche a te fratello....) In questa occasione Raimondo, contrariamente al solito ( dove si cimenta col piano)... mi ha regalato un emozione forte con il flauto irlandese (addirittura lo ha costruito !!!..un vero genio....)

Lovely version of this haunting intro! The artist doesn't always know best - Metheny never does it live; he goes straight into the next section. He told a group audience I was in that his songs were all stories - so I asked him why he missed the first chapter out on Minuano. He said it doesn't sound right live - how wrong he was!

This is an excellent rendition of "Close to Home". Great work Francesco! I have been a Pat Metheny Group lover since I first heard them at Northwestern College in Evanston, IL in 1978. The next day went out and bought the White album. The first song, San Lorenzo, is still my most favorite. As a keyboardist I played a rendition of it. Not until I began to see videos on the internet (i.e. RUclips) filming the absolutely amazing ability of Lyle's awesome piano playing did I realize what a genius he was at the keyboards. I was never exposed to Close to Home until about 3 years ago. I would say it is my second most favorite May's tune. We certainly have lost a great one in life, but praise God his music will carry on. Thank you!
