I've never seen monitor as harmful as this before. They are very good quality in games and movies and look really good but they are not safe, I tell you guys just be careful. I don't think this comes from Mini-LED problem.. I don't know where the problem is really coming from. I only know that setting high brightness can lead to harm. These are not normal monitors. I have a Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 32 4K Mini LED 240hz VA This also have Mini-LED and QD, but this is VA panel and it feels safe. I have been using now, one year over my Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 and I don't feel any bad side effects. When i've used Master Tempest GP27Q, i've already got side effects in 1/2 days. My eyes got hurt burning and i got a severe headache some kinda weird headache. I've never experience monitor like this before, and it's crazy how bad it is for your general overall health. P.S I don't have any problem with my eyes and I don't wear any glasses, I don't have sensitive eyes and I have good vision but i felt really bad after using Master Tempest GP27Q. This is not joke, this is serious. Even did latest new firmware updated to monitor and still bad and dangerous. If you have these monitors already, then try to sell them, if you cannot sell, then keep it but make sure change your settings Brightness between 50/40/37 or lower. Even Brightness on 50 feels too much but you kinda getting used to it, but it's still not ideal. Try use Brightness 37 or 27 or lower. Or you can use with Blue Light Filter but this might ruin some colors. However maybe if you lower the Black Stabilizer just a little bit and lower Brightness and Gamma to 2.6 or off, then it will be more safe for your eyes. Just use with very lower Brightness. I mean, for both SDR and HDR of course, be careful with them both. I think you will figure out, how to adjust the settings to be safe for your eyes. If i was you, i'd sell it and buy a Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 VA 4K Mini LED 240Hz or a Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 VA 4K Mini LED 165Hz or other monitors that are safe for your eyes. That old Samsung looks amazing
This is literally just the camera due to the Sony being brighter. That can’t be seen in person like it looks. I have both and yea the CM is better at local dimming which is obvious but it ain’t like this
i believe you, the camera lens is more sensitive to the light than a naked eye so it’s giving a bad representation of the M9.
What are your opinions on this monitor? Do you recommend it? I'm thinking of returning my LG GP950 and getting this.
Try use Brightness 37 or 27 or lower. However maybe if you lower the Black Stabilizer just a little bit and lower Brightness and Gamma to 2.6 or off, then it will be more safe for your eyes. Just use with very lower Brightness.
nice to finally see a 27 inch 4k non curved monitor. but sadly it’s not sold in canada …. so back to searching !
Which one is which?
The idiot doesn’t show us until the end smh
you can tell by the stands.
@@arcanusluvalus1388 HAHA, the are very not viseble in this dark!
8 bit or 10 bit thankss ?
8 bit or 10 bit ??
Brain.exe stopped responding after recording the video?
100 zones is nothing.
I don't experience this halo with mine. In fact, I prefer it over my Neo G7 or even my Alienware (due to the lack of 4k)
This is camera exaggerating and also color reproduction is way off since I had Cooler disaster Tempest and directly comparing it with laptop display (no local dimming 300nits low contrast 8-bit), and while watching videos difference is not that great, only thing where it is greatly different is pure white screen, but after Tempest broke and got vertical green-purple line (blessing in disguise since dead stuck pixels are developing fast had those also) return this shiny flop...
Mogged
CM is on the left in the title and on the right in the video? Am I right?
Yeah he didnt explain which is which. CM is on the right.
how would you say this is compared to the samsung odyssey g8 neo
Cooler Master at the back?
Cooler Master at the front. The back one is a 65" TV, this is a 27" in front.
At 0:13 it looks as if the Coolermaster has more blooming but it has 576 zones and Samsung only 490 zones on 3x the surface. I wonder whats wrong there.
I think it could be because of the camera doing some auto adjustment.
Nothing wrong bro. It's VA with 3000:1 contrast vs IPS 1000:1. You will always get disgusting blooming with IPS technology doesn't matter if you even have 2000 zones. Some content can look good, but small bright details on black background will always look bad. In my opinion even something like Sony 55XH95 with only 48 fald zones will give you better overall HDR experience.
VA have like 3-5 times the native contrast of IPS, combine it with some dimming zones and u get closer and closer to OLED levels of black. but, IPS have better viewings angels, better colors and fester response time. OLED is fester, have about the same colors and better viewings angels then IPS, but its not getting as bright as the other 2. VA + FALD -> living room tv for movies IPS + FALD -> PC gaming/work OLED -> dark room fanatics for both PC and TV. there is no 1 winner.
what's the input lag like for gaming
12ms but if you for gaming on 4K that’s normal and you shouldn’t worry since the difference between 2ms and 12 is not Seeaals by eye (Iam talking about full latency from pc to mouse click)
@@m1iles I heard that the omen input lag is huge and people have returned for ag70a
@@StickyGeko then they probably experience placebo
Could you please run the UFO test on it? That's the piece that many of us are concerned isn't going to be good enough.
How would you rate the local dimming algortihms? And how good is software side of monitor in terms of features?
Do you have a MacBook Pro 14/16" to compare it against? Interested to see, since they have much higher dimming zone count.
I’ve seen a comparison between the 2, I don’t remember where but the MacBooks display has almost 10k dimming zones compared to the 500 on the cooler master and the laptop is smaller so less pixels to cover. Ofcourse it will look much nicer on the MacBook

@@gametime4316 yes I was wrong, thanks for the correction 👍
It looks really impressive for a 27 inch display. I just can't go back to the smaller screen after using a 32 inch though.
hmm interesting I know the 32'' models should be coming if not late this year by april 2023 and I am holding out for that model.
I am trying to decide between this 27'' and the odyssey neo g8 but the samsung must have problems if I see so many listings on ebay now and people keep talking about scanline issues at 4k 240hz so I think the safer bet would be the coolermaster especially now with at $799
@@ployth9000 I tried the G8 with 3 different replacements, but all had dead pixels. I’m going to give this one a try and see how good it is. Hoping it has better QC than Samsung displays.

How did you get your hands on one 😅? Thanks for the videos by the way
its on sale at amazon for $999

It just video colors ~~

How's the blooming in person? I'm seeing some levels of it from this video, but probably the camera makes it look worse. Did you get a chance to game on it? I'm also curious to see how it holds up against an OLED monitor :)
Hi , some blooming in this video is from not good photograph , it's not so obvious in real view . Sorry to make this becuase I am not a professional photographer

From what I've read it seems to be October for this 4K one and November for the 2K GP27Q one.

@@ployth9000 Official price just dropped to $799. Apparently there are plenty of mini LEDs monitors in China these days selling for around that price or cheaper and some even have 1152 dimming zones. Cooler Master can still make a profit at that price and it helps them stay competitive when other companies start shipping inexpensive mini LED monitors outside of Asia.
Questions for the GP27U: is the panel 8 bit + frc or just 8 bit? Is there a KVM function; use same mouse and keyboard across multiple inputs? Thanks, FALD on GP27U seems impressive for price.
Yes ,GP27U is 8+frc panel and support kvm function
Thanks for this! I almost went with the Sony Inzone M9 until I saw your comparison and it confirmed my suspicions - too much light bleed with dark scenes! The Cooler Master GP27U seems like a great compromise until monitors improve some more.
