Prog Metal Production Breakdown ( Effuse - Kill Castle)
Scooped-out amateur sound, my man.
I have a ST and if you take the valve out most distortions don't work. So it does something.
Nice cover. But the drums lack energy. Brings down the band.
What a fantastic video this was
00:44 click here to start the video
Seriously can't edit a video it's out of sync 🤣
Thank you, great video 👍👍
You don't have to change your strings if playing jazz..
This is great, but how am I as a metal drummer focus at everything all at once? Speed, drum fills, double pedal, tempo and even strikes... It's hard to sound like a machine
Nice i got the OT1 transformers in my autocom and two peq's definitely improved its output signal
Thats cool. Try muting all the strings that are out of key with the song.
This comp is really good already out of the box. I rebought one, after listening to an old track I recorded through it 10 years ago. It's really clean and smooth. Crazy, you can get them for 20-40 bucks used. Would you still do the mod or let it as it was ?
So where's the something with big 80s drums.
Well done gentlemen. Good to see people still MAKING music. Bravo!🎉❤
🤘😝🤘
these dudes can cook
That sounds cool!
Ive got 2. early models have a clone chip and later serials dbx chips inside. Cheap useable comps
The evolution my understanding of what I need to be a good drummer: Ok I just need to have good coordination. Ok my arms can't take it. I need to learn to hold my sticks properly while coordinating my arms and legs. Ok my average person sense of rhythm isn't enough. I need to pay attention to it while trying to hold my sticks properly while coordinating my arms and legs. If I wanna play faster all said skills need to be even better. Ok turns out I need to accent notes. I need to pay attention to the accents while paying attention to the rhythm while trying to hold my sticks properly while coordinating my arms and legs. Ok so practicing on the pad does not translate to the drum set very well. I need to keep in mind the physics of all the cymbals and drums and to turning my body around while paying attention to the accents while paying attention to the rhythm while trying to hold my sticks properly while coordinating my arms and legs. As a side quest, also I also need to find the height of the throne and my position on it and in relation to the drums set that fits me. Ok now that I can play faster and longer my arm cramps are back in addition to the shoulder and back cramps. I need to stay relaxed while keeping in mind the physics of all the cymbals and drums and to turning my body around while paying attention to the accents while paying attention to the rhythm while trying to hold my sticks properly while coordinating my arms and legs. Ok so my sense of rhythm is still awful. I need to start counting the notes (preferably out loud) at least from time to time while trying to stay relaxed while keeping in mind the physics of all the cymbals and drums and to turning my body around while paying attention to the accents while paying attention to the rhythm while trying to hold my sticks properly while coordinating my arms and legs. Ok my band members complain that I'm being too loud. I need to pay attention to the volume while counting the notes while trying to stay relaxed while keeping in mind the physics of all the cymbals and drums and to turning my body around while paying attention to the accents while paying attention to the rhythm while trying to hold my sticks properly while coordinating my arms and legs. Ok my band members and I constantly de-sync. I need to pay attention to what they are actually playing while paying attention to the volume while counting the notes while trying to stay relaxed while keeping in mind the physics of all the cymbals and drums and to turning my body around while paying attention to the accents while paying attention to the rhythm while trying to hold my sticks properly while coordinating my arms and legs. Ok I just watched some video that tells me that not only do I need to pay attention to the volume but to the consistent and intentional volume of different parts of the set. I need to hit the same spot of each part of the set consistently with the same angle of the each hit while paying attention to what the band is actually playing while paying attention to the volume while counting the notes while trying to stay relaxed while keeping in mind the physics of all the cymbals and drums and to turning my body around while paying attention to the accents while paying attention to the rhythm while trying to hold my sticks properly while coordinating my arms and legs. And my coordination, rhythm and technique still need to be worked on not to mention the advanced techniques of "shanking", "sliding", "moeller", etc. Devil's instrument.
I recently purchased a used MDX 1200 from Guitar Center for $60. Much to my surprise, it arrived in mint condish. This was my second way back then, my first was a DBX 163 to which i lost my virginity but in my defense I was drunk and emotional.
Thank you so much for sharing!
This was a good video. Very educational, very informational. Thanks for making it.
ON electric guitar : it sounds to me like you just moved the "modded" mic a cm closer to the grill resulting in a tiny lil' bump in the low end. The mod really isn't worth the effort. But hey......youtubers 😂😂😂
Halfway through the vid, but to your credit... other than some wobbly time and inconsistency on the snare hits, I felt your performances had more energy. Could contribute that to the louder playing on the cymbals, whereas your brother's cymbal playing was clearer and tighter and more controlled but both performances could have their place on a song. Obviously overall your brother is the better drummer, but I don't think you sounded terrible at all, man. Regardless of how good anyone is anyway, playing live is a million times easier than recording tracks in a studio.
Man what a beutiful work, and kindness with the comunity. Thank you!
does it sound the same as the tonelab SE?
i was lookng for phill spector mono mix, but this helps me also, txs!
It sounds great… there are many new multi effects, but the Vox can hold its own years later.
I can see you deliberately messing up the timing.
I have one of these and I love it. Unfortunately I'm having problems with it lately. The main issue is that the grey buttons have become very unresponsive, especially the up and down buttons . Its an old unit so I don't know if the buttons have become worn out or else if dust or grit has gotten into the unit. Anybody else had this problem?
What the hell Bobby!?
I just bought one and it looks great. Sounds real good too.
Awesome pedal i have one and 3 vox tonelab le its mouch better than boss rock on
just what i needed! ive been studying dudes like Dijon to get that room sound. check my music out too lol
It's likely that, your overly hot pickups lead to the unwanted distorted sound. The solution is to set the Volume on the guitar to about 90%. I am not sure. What do you think?
A good drummer on top of everything know how to tunes their set too. Ive heard too many chaotic out of tune drums. Huge pet peeve of mine.
Yeah but what about blast beats??
Great vid.
Bought this unit a few months after it came out, it was way ahead of my BOSS GT-6 for direct amp tones, I kept it until a few years ago, sounded pretty good into the effects return of a Marshall style tube head I also had, I kinda wish I didn't sell it, I liked its simplicity, maybe with a small IR Loader it could still kick ass. I also had the Tonelab LE and I remember it kicking ass live though I can't remember what I used to amplify it o_O
It sounds obvious but you didn’t mention flamming between kick and hi hat. It’s a common problem of beginners.
Absolute gold
I was expecting a snare drum in the genre 'epic music'
I didn't notice that much of a difference between the omni'd and the normal 57... I really liked what that 51 did to the hi hat tho!
Just like valvetronix amps, the tube makes a big difference. Most of these sound a bit tinny and hollow without a bit of post processing, like with an eq, DI, cab sim or something to mute out the buzz a little. Might get 4 or 5 useable sounds but they can be very good.
Thanks for this. Any views on the Stomplab that’s currently available new. Thinking of getting one of these for the price but as far as I can tell everything else has been discontinued.
Hiya - no - the Tonelab desk, SE & LE units are all directly evolved from the original Blue series Valvetronix and absolutely NOT the more budget chrome series that used a dumbed-down design of the vale-reactor with huge limitations. The Tonelab desktop was launched in 2003 - the AD15VT & AD30VT chrome Valvetronix didn't come out until Jan 2004. The Tonelab SE (stage edition) was launched in 2004 and was the Tonelab Desktop but Vox put it into the casing of the Blue Valvetronix VC12 floor controller, designed specifically for gigging as a floor pedal with A/B switching, and with more effects than the desktop. The Tonelab LE (Light edition?) was launched in 2007. It had 24bit AD/DA processing and was a tad more 'hi-fi' than the TL desktop/TLSE, and was a more compact & lighter version of the TLSE with a single rather than dual expression pedal, no A/B switching (which was a shame), but with a metal distortion effect thrown in. The separate red LED tuner in the TLSE was upgraded and included within the TLLE LCD display. The tube is absolutely NOT for 'show'. It's effectively being used as a power tube in the power section, and not the preamp section which is all digital. Unfortunately, the dumbed down design of later Valvetronix eg chrome series, and the TLST & TLEX MFX did not use the tube in the same way and these even had a led to make it look as if the tube was glowing more than it really was because in fact very little voltage were going through them. In the original Blue Valvetronix amps, the tubes are under near full mains load. But I concur that the onboard cab models are its achiles heel and that utilising modern IR's makes a huge difference.
Hi could I upgrade AT2050?
I loved my ToneLab, use the Vox AV30 now for bedroom levels.
For a pedal review this a killer drum sound
much appreciated!
