Glad i watched this 😊
thanks bro
Nice!!!
❤ great episode
thank you! :)
I first heard of Billy Sheehan when he was in Talas.....about the time they were touring with Malmsteen. Never got to see them live.
Too bad there wasn't more. I also rock out in red plaid!
Holy moly, that early run is . . . at least 2.5 octaves, isn't it? I know he has an even wider range than that, but in that line alone . . .
Pretty funny. He says that he learned a lot, nice for him. But he does not tell us what he learned, bad for us.
Dave taught the boys in the band what “eat em and smile” really means and it took a while but with persistence and a good teacher like Dave the boys started to like it. But without Dave they would still be virgins.
JIM TIME!
Thanks for coming on dude!
@@andyconnrockIt was a blast!

100% agree with your perspective about the guitar. i love the reference to the former eras as well!
totally! great to hear big guitars coming back in the Trench's sound! Don't forget to subscribe!
Amazing! Congrats Andrew ❤ 🎸
Thank you Raleigh!
Red plaid ...I have a few if that stuff! Haha!
If you haven't listened to Anthony Gomes yet, go have a listen. He is the best act that has come out of the 00s. He is phenomenal. I knew Anthony was a perfectionist. You can hear it in his music. To top that off, he is a genuinely kind person. He is devoted to his fans.
Breakout artist of the decade!
Finally somebody actually listening to these people. I always have to preface. Did you know that the lead singer of this band, Josh, partially wrote the song call Me maybe. Look at the writing credits. Yes that's call Me maybe.
I did indeed know that! Also, if you go back on my podcast episodes, you'll find episode No. 6 were I interview Sara Ramsay, Josh's sister. I hope to have Josh on my podcast sometime soon. :)
What a fabulous interview!! It's always a great time however Anthony Gomes rocks your world!! Thanx for an interesting show Andy and Anthony!!❤️🐈⬛😃💯☝🏻🎶🎤🎸🥁🎤✌🏻💥⚡️🥳
thank you! feel free to go back on former episodes and dont forget to subscribe ! :)
Anthony is by far ahead of every artist today. I so love the way he plays...
Anthony Gomes Worldwide baby
Turn it up@
I bet you the album closer will bring this chorus' melody back but maybe lyrics saying "This extraordinary life" or something similar. Also an Ever After motif callback plus a Fix Me reference for good measure!!!
I agree so much about the guitar, I've missed their rock and pop punk era so much.
Thought this was DethKlok song. Bummer lol.
haha. funny enough I was watching that show earlier today. I enjoy this band and DethKlok/Metalocalpyse too :)
I know this song is setting up for rntire story of an album. That just makes me even more excited to see them release more.
Great band!
💯 my first listen was the audio too 🎶 🤘
Man, the guitars here aren’t just fantastic, they’re reminiscent of their first album, Fix Me, and an even a little bit of Josh’s early stuff as a teenager. This felt like a melting pot of every era.
Josh has taken great delight in very cleverly stringing things together, or so I've noticed anyhow.
I'm a huge MTrench fan. This one is goood but hard to judge since I'm not sure if this is the album opener or not. It certainly sounds like one. I'm always excited to see what Josh gives us.
It’s totally an album opener. A perfect call to action song to start A Hero’s Journey.
@@codyssmith73 One things for sure, its always a wild ride! thanks for watching
I'm pretty sure Josh mentioned this would be the opening track on social media
I liked it, the only part I didnt like was towards the end where the drum solo just went to a completely different sound, felt a bit unsmooth
"Promo SM"
I wish he would've given an example of the "rules"
I was kind of hoping for that too. Oh well, maybe for next time... :) Check out the full interview!
I saw the Skyscraper tour in Providence RI. Dave was out to prove something. The show was over the top. And Dave took it serious. His vocals were on point. Great great show.
Steve Vai said pretty much the same thing. Sounds like DLR had a lot more business savvy than a lot of people knew about or gave him credit for.
Business Savvy for sure! DLR has some serious showbiz ideas, as shown here. Don't forget to check out the full episode with Billy!
That was a great interview. !! U both rock
He's a funny guy.
Is there anybody cooler than Billy? Super humble yet he’s a bass monster! Legend! Noice one.
What did you learn from touring with DLR? I didn't tour with him.
lol I can see the confusion. I had asked him about the "Skyscraper" album and tour. He answered by telling he played on the album but not the Skyscraper tour. He DID however, tour with DLR for the Eat Em & Smile era for 1986 and 1987.
Billy's band Talas toured with Van Halen back in 1980 as the opening band. He saw the shows every night and got to know the VH camp. When Dave went solo he got Billy instantly because they'd known each other professionally for years. He played and toured on Dave's Eat 'Em & Smile album and tour before he finally left. So that's about 5 to 7 years of being in or around Dave shows.
@@xpicklepie very true! A PhD in showbiz 101 for sure!
How to talk to girls 101.
😁👏👏👏
I've been called out by Billy Sheehan for saying I thought I first met him on the Skyscraper tour 🙃 on one such occasion in 2011 Eric Martin and Pat Torpey tried desperately to run interference and humorously change the subject 😂 To most of us, he'll always be Dave's legendary bassist from that era, so much so that I swear I still remember seeing him on the Skyscraper tour, even though *I know* he wasn't 😂🙏🏼✨🤘🏼
I could hear it too. Well, either way, he was very kind and gracious for us in this interview. This was a great interview. The whole thing comes out March 14 on this channel!
@@andyconnrock Billy Sheehan is a legend, not only for reaching the highest levels of his craft and career, but for being an exceptional human being. It is really remarkable that he's lived through and achieved all that he has, and has done it with such grace, dignity and decency. At the end of the day nobody hears about any shenanigans or funny business related to Billy Sheehan, because he is an exceptional human being 🙏🏼🤘🏼
@@kellecetraro4807 can't. wait for the whole episode! :)
Some day, I hope to spy Billy in a local Home Depot and throw that tour at him 😉
@@doublesizz Haha! Amen to that brother 🙏🏼✨ I'm glad you made it over 🤘🏼
What I learned from Dave? Get coked up, jump around on stage and forget the lyrics
In the full interview that premieres on March 14, Billy talks more about touring with multiple acts, but he spoke most highly of DLR and Van Halen.
@eyesofmadnessDavid didn't do drugs. Not when we free climb and were an emt.
Better to remain silent and thought a fool than to speak and prove it. 🙄👎🤡
Sheehan is a legend, keep on keepin on Billy.
Full episode with Billy on March 14!
Roth is amazing. Greatest tour ever
