Way before Google maps and cell phones you would just look at a road map to see where you had to go.. When I would get to the customer, I would always walk in and look around to see my area for a set up. People would get pissed off that you did that and some would say just pull in and stop killing time. I always preplanned entry and exit. I retired in March but looking to go back to work and do basically what you are doing. Ninety percent of my work was a tanker yanker, but have moved equipment on RGN and triAxle dumps. Been in the game since 1979. My first truck was a 1965 B-61 Mack with a twin stick. Enjoy your stuff. Stay safe🙏🇺🇸

Coming from a guy who drove for a living, I always give the big rigs as much room and respect as possible. The job they have is hard enough, if I can make it a little bit easier. I will go out of my way to do so.

This doesn’t always work out this way. There’s always some A-hole that wants to get around the “slow moving truck” As a driver that delivers building materials around the Portland area, there’s not much respect for big rigs. People are on their own time and could give zero shits about me making my turn.

Just an FYI from a fellow truck driver, it's much easier and less risky to make a left turn into a single lane than a right turn. Plan your route.
