"Griggles" the clown had been played by Glenn Shapiro until his disappearance in 1979. It had been rumoured he joined Ringling Brothers and performed around the Tampa Bay area as "Grumpy Gus." The clown name most fitting. His stint with Ringling came to an abrupt end when Glenn was accused of having an affair with a fellow performer. He now resides in North Miami beach area as a street performer/pan handler and sometimes volunteers down at the YMCA encouraging troubled youths to eat their cereal.
