If a few of the old EMD F40PH-2CAT continue to run alongside the newer MPI F40s and MP36s - they should give them an overhaul to extend their service a bit until the BEMUs are ready

The old F40s were supposed to be retired. Instead, the MP36PH-3Cs and MPI F40PH-2Cs should be staying.

The Franklin Ave Shuttle in NYC may end up like this line if it ever gets relocated underground with full-length platforms and connects to the Crosstown Line. That being eliminating the shuttle service and replacing it with a through-service.

The Bombardier→Alstom MOVIA Fleet of the Future's MITRAC IGBT-VVVF kind of sounds like a combo of the LA Metro Rail Breda A650 (batch 2, which uses General Electric GTO-VVVF) and the Bombardier MOVIA 456 of Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Shanghai (which use MITRAC TC1110 series IGBT-VVVF).
