The Unlucky Woodworker is about learning how to do basic woodworking and broadcasting all the mistakes along the way.
Building a Desk Easel
I've been drawing a lot more lately, so I decided to make a desk easel. It's essentially just a box that can stay open to support paper, a canvas, or a sketchbook. I had a single board of granadillo, which presented some challenges and had me gluing together scraps near the end. When I saw how beautiful the granadillo was, I didn't want to substitute in another species.
It seems my camera is particularly sensitive to reflected light, so a few cuts are over exposed for part of the video. I also managed to forget to turn on my mic for a few of the shots. Sorry about that!

You have made a really nice looking drawing box and as my granddaughter is doing art exams i have picked out your design for making one for her and hopefully it will turn out as good as you have done thank you for the idea and tuition video ❤👌👍👏👏👏
dumb question was that the felt? I only saw that years ago when I was 8 years old till i saw it here that looks nice
My respects for your woodwork's ethics. Beautiful piece at the end, that is what counts!!!
I've wanted to try woodworking with a table saw but I've heard horror stories about accident. if i bleed, it takes a long time to stop. I'm wondering if those sleds make it safer to use?
So, a table-saw sled is generally used for cutting across the wood grain (hence, the "cross-cut" in cross-cut sled), whereas most cuts on a table-saw cut along the wood grain ("ripping" it in two). Sleds aren't very useful for rip cuts. But don't let that put you off learning woodworking. Any saw, be they hand or electric, is dangerous when used carelessly. As long as you follow basic safety rules for table-saws, and maintain a healthy respect for the machine's capabilities & limitations, you'll probably be just fine. Good luck, and all the best, my friend.
Currently overengineering a version of my own
Thank you ... For this video , I needed that too for the same reasons ...✨✨✨
l am very impress for your work.pls send your mobile no.
Nice wok🙂
I love it... Sir.
You're the luckiest unlucky diy guy. Lol. All those mistakes and still came out on top. The only thing wasted was time... But eh who cared.. great vid.
Makers need not hold any shame or remorse for moving forward w their projects. We each use the gifts God gave us to the best of our ability at the time. Could anyone you know personally replicate this project? Could they have recovered as gracefully from their mistakes as you did? Not to make comparisons but only to remind you that not pitching a fit or throwing stuff when things happen we don't like, is an excellent model for us all. Thank you.
U'r content is pure brother 😁👍
I really appreciate that you show us your mistakes. There are way to many DIYers on You Tube who edit their videos to show us NO mistakes. I think that's because they don't have the courage to be honest. I value honesty much more than craftspersonship. Thank you.
You need more to be familiar with the video angles...you need a lazy Susan...
I love the fact that you show the mistakes. Are you a trained carpenter. You’re eye for detail is superb
Nice job man
*Assembly was easier than expected **do7.pl/ZDesk** if a little time consuming (about 40 mins). Sturdy pieces. Drawers are fabric but so far they're holding up. I like that the height is adjustable.*
You won me over by showing your mistake, I felt identify because is the kind of thing I do all the time.
