Where you get the mirror acrylic?
Thanks for an easy to follow tutorial!
Thank you!😊
Will you do a video (or have you made one) showing how you use the tape to attach letters to signs? Thanks!
Where are the best places to find fonts? And where'd you find the wild things script? Thanks!
Where do you recommend buying fonts?
Thank you for a great tutorial!
how do I randomize each letter into different size and place
Hey which Laser cutter are you using? 🙏
I use a Glowforge Basic!
I dont see the wooden pattern.. cheater
Awesome tutorial, Thank-you!!! Just subscribed!!
This video was so helpful. You are a natural teacher. Definitely above and beyond for someone selling files. Thank for your for doing this. I am looking at your file make academy right now. I think this is just what I need.
I'm so happy to hear that! Please don't hesitate to email me at jacquelyn at thefabletree dot com if you have any questions.
Do you have a tutorial for the bottom stand for these event signs? One with grooves the sign can slot into?
Hi! I teach that in File Makers Academy, my 5 week Glowforge file design course. You can learn more and enroll here: thefabletree.com/enroll
Hi! Love your tutorials! Do you have any or can you make one on how to design/line up the acrylic arch bar menus with the acrylic base/stand? For the life of me, I cannot get them to line up correctly! So frustrating! I have one of the gage calculators too!
Hey! I cover kerf and stands and such in File Makers Academy, my 5 week design program. You can learn more here if you're interested: thefabletree.com/enroll
Another great tutorial! Did you mention where you got your Olive acrylic? If so, I missed it and didn’t see a link in your description. Also I just have what may be an odd comment….I noticed that you had 49 views but only two likes. I am one of those people who at times forget to hit the like button. Hopefully I remember at some point and go back and hit it or at end of video the RUclipsr reminds me and I get it done. So I just wanted to assure you that your tutorials are loved and appreciated!
I'm so happy to hear that, thank you! And I'm not actually sure where I got this acrylic--it was the only random purchase I've made :) Houston Acrylic has a matte olive green that I'd order next time, since the shininess of this one was kind of annoying for the project.
Thank you!
Great video. How much would you typically sell these for?
When I sold physical pieces, I’d do smaller ones like these for $48-68 depending on design!
would love to see you put this together
There's a Reel on my Instagram account @thefabletree!
I’m so happy I found your channel. When are you offering your class.?
Thank you so much! You can begin the course at any time, it's all prerecorded and you can work at your own pace. filemakersacademy.com to enroll!
Do you finish the wood that you use for bow holders or leave it as is? I want to make some but the wood that I bought is unfinished.
I leave them unfinished--I love the look and so did my customers! You can absolutely finish the wood if you'd prefer.
Where have you found the wood at? Or do you make it yourself?
Thank you for a great tutorial! When I do one word it's great, but when I try to do the offset path with a quote, all the words get a weird outline. What am I doing wrong?
Hmm, hard to say without seeing the file, but here's something to try: once you've done the Create Outlines step with your whole quote (before any offset path), select all the words/letters in the quote, go to Pathfinder, and click Unite. Then proceed. See if that helps.
There is no sound on the video :(
Uh oh! Thanks for letting me know :(
This is fantastic! My 6 year old grandson will LOVE this!
I hope he does!! These are so much fun :)
Is this supposed to have sound? I’m not getting any sound but only on this one video!
Oh no! Let me check that out, it's definitely supposed to have sound. Thanks for alerting me.
Do yall sell any that has been used?
I don't, but if anyone decides to sell these, they can reply here and help you out!
Beautiful! Do you sell this file?
These files are free in my Resources Vault! Head to thefabletree.com and click Resources Vault access to get on my email list and get access for free.
Thank you for such an easy to follow tutorial Jacquelyn!
what material do you cut these out on?
I use pastel acrylics from Cerulean Tides!
When I open in Lazerbox my SVG opens the file with the lettering not filled in. I have not tested it but My machine generally will not recognize that as a fill engraving. Great tutorial, I watched it several times to as I am brand new to Illustrator. Thank you for the video.
What is the difference between doing the expand part and not doing the expand part when you did the minus front?
we love your tutorials !
Hi, do you know how to add and adjust the name by using Silhouette studio?
😍😍😍 love it. What font is that?
Thanks! It's Glamour Absolute. I recommend purchasing directly from nickylaatz's website so it's cheaper.
Hi, does this method work with cutting as well, for example, if I wanted to cut a shape out of a background that also needed to be cut (i.e. rattan) would I just follow all these steps? Thanks
What I found to be helpful - make sure that your "pattern" is filled and not just "stroked". Then make sure the silhouette shape is at the front and then hit copy.
@@volcomsnw thank you, I'll give this a try
What an easy tutorial to follow. I'm so glad I found you!
What am I doing wrong? I follow this exactly with my imported svg pattern for the background rather than stripes, and when I hit copy, the entire background disappears and I am left with just the silhouette. Help!
So cute!
Jacquelyn, Good morning! I belong to your filemakersacademy and it is awesome. I'm following your RUclips video Love Day Sign, I've purchase the font Wild Mango and it is downloaded into Illustrator. I typed love on the screen, then changed the present font to Wild Mango, then went into (type) at top of screen then click on glyph then scroll thru the different letters, when I find the letter and click on it, it doesn't place the letter on the screen. I did put my curser between the l and o first. help please.
Weirdly/annoyingly enough, I sometimes have to click on a glyph a few times before it will show up. Try that and let me know if it works!
@@GlowforgeTutorials Thank you! I have to press the new letter 3 times, then it appears! Hooray!
😊
I buy files from Etsy and have been doing so for a while now, the fact that you go above and beyond like this for your buyers is something I rarely see! I can’t wait to buy and try a few of your beautiful files! Now I’m just trying to decided on which ones! Thank you for this video!
That means a lot! I know a lot of my customers are new to Glowforge, and I just want to make sure everyone has what they need to successfully create my files <3
Your videos are INCREDIBLY helpful. Thank you for taking out the time to create and upload this useful content!
I'm so glad they're helpful! Let me know if there are any projects you'd like to see :).
Hi where can i found this front ?
I bought the font on Creative Market! It's called Julietta.
@@GlowforgeTutorials thank you so much.
For the life of me I can’t get this to work. I get as far as the offset but when I switch the colours my outline is black and my word has no fill where as yours is black and the offset is clear.
You can set the colors manually as well using the selectors at the top of the window!
Thank you! I made some similar ones this year but you showed a lot of things that will make it easier next year! I really appreciate these tutorials 🙂
I'm so glad to hear they're helpful!
Prayers for your family 👪
Would have been more fun listening to this video if you had an "a" hole to deal with.
Okay, let me tell you how tempted I was lol
Can I ask what adhesive you use to put the 2nd layer on?
I use 3M 467 to adhere the second layer! Pricy up front but my roll has lasted me almost a year and it makes things SO much easier that I’d buy it even if it were twice the cost.
Solid tutorial thanks
Do you used inkscape sometimes?
I don't, Illustrator does everything I need it to, so I haven't given it a try.
Hi! Thank you so much for this tutorial, it has helped me get started on a bunch of projects. One question- have you run into issues with Glowforge giving you a "Filled Shaped Open" error when trying to Engrave from this file? If you have is there a fix for it? I have been Scoring the background lines instead (because for some reason that works). Just wondering if there is a trick to be able to Engrave those lines. Thanks!
The background lines are meant to be scored! You'd need to use rectangles instead of line segments if you wanted to engrave.
can you share video how to make half a circle with any design in it? like your boo halloween?
You could use the same technique for any design! I also go more deeply into the technique in File Makers Academy, my 5 week file design course!
this was very helpful thanks..
