This is a brilliant analysis and appears to define what has developed within the body politic, in particular, the never before but as of 2016 "politically active" populous, here in the US.

I wonder if this research aligns with John Dean and Bob Altymeyer's work on authoritarian personality types and how child development and parenting style is involved? It seems to me that authoritarian personality types, who sometimes identify as libertarians, defer their 'thinking' to an authority and disparage overall expertise and science that threatens their leader. As these are personality types informed during childhood, than propaganda could have limited effects as noted in this presentation.

Gordon's premise is so broken that nearly nothing of value can be gained from any of the data he's gathered. Sharing of information isn't a mathematical equation. You can't say, X provides truth, thus if X provides Y, Y must = Truth. There are are 1000's of writers that write for online websites, and this includes traditional media, like the New York Times and Washington Post. Additionally, each paper is run by editors with their own inherent biases, and owned by very rich people with their own goals. To act as though it's a simple as, the NYT has a certain reputation historically, means that today each story can go unverified yet still be determined "true", backed by that reputation alone, is highly naïve or disingenuous. Gordon has a PHD and a Noble Prize, I'm a 9th grade drop out. But if you paid me to go over his arguments, I could easily destroy them, with objective, verifiable facts, and it wouldn't take that long. The fact that he uses the WHO, NYT, and WP as examples of disseminators of Truth shows how wrong he is, as there are numerous examples of them pushing provably false news. Additionally, his belief that the first problem with 3rd party "fact checking" isn't that there is an innate issue with the model, i.e who checks the fact checkers, but rather, that it's unscalable; Disregarding even the possibility that anyone claiming ownership over truth could be a potential problem (Ministry of Truth anyone?), just shows how he lacks a sceptics mind, which is invaluable when dealing with misrepresentation. Anywho, it'll be nice to see him do more interviews and become more main stream. I'm sure companies and governments that want to oppress viewpoints would love to hold him up as a "scientist" representing the search for truth, while using his arguments and data to silence people's voices. The great thing is, it wouldn't take more than an evening to debunk nearly everything he stands for, so if this is the best they come up with, it's great for society. Garbage Take, mainly an authoritarian perspective, but carry on, I love that this is gaining traction. Edit: Just as a quick example, in this video, he uses a slide "Vitamin C protects against Coronavirus" as an example of a fake headline. Yet there are many studies that show data that this is indeed true, many times in conjunction with other chemicals, but nonetheless having Vitamin C as a major component. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7318306/ "Quercetin displays a broad range of antiviral properties which can interfere at multiple steps of pathogen virulence virus entry, virus replication, protein assembly and that these therapeutic effects can be augmented by the co-administration of vitamin C." www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7553131/ "Vitamin C has demonstrated favorable therapeutic properties safety profiles throughout a wide range of clinical applications. Administration of high dose of vitamin C as a therapeutic agent can favorably impact patients with viral pneumonia and ARDS in severe SAR-CoV-2 infected patients by decreasing inflammation, pathogens infectiveness and virulence, optimizing immune defense, reducing tissues and organs injuries and improving the overall outcome of the disease. Application of a high dose of vitamin C can dramatically reduce the need for treatment with high doses for corticosteroids, antibacterial, and anti-viral drugs. Vitamin C also can be effective for primary prevention of viral infections by boosting the innate immune defense. In infected patients, vitamin C therapy may shorten the course and prevent the complication of the disease [47] [78]. In addition to vitamin C, other nutraceutical antioxidants that widely available as OTC drugs or food supplements can be used to improve redox balance and reduce tissue damages in patients with viral pneumonia and ARDS." The article they cite gives A LIST of citations for the reader to verify. The idea that an article such as this is being used by Gordon as an example of what needs to stifled shows how backwards his mental processes are. To label the NYT and WP, which have many articles that do not cite, or, cite other faulty sources, as Truth, but an article, that granted, comes to a conclusion but at the very least is based on verified studies of similar diseases, as False, shows why verification should be left up to the consumer, as it always has been. We do NOT want the government or giant corporations telling us what is true and false. The internet allowed us to escape that malicious authoritarian relationship, and this is their attempt to gain it back. Don't allow people like Gordon to fool you, they want to brainwash us back into the pre Internet era. Do not allow them to turn you back into unthinking lemmings, fight back. Demand the freedom to do your own research and to see all opinions, regardless of their "Truth" score or "Accuracy" rating.
