The angle is deceiving...it's about 10 meters wide where everybody is walking and there is a wide path to walk on. Not dangerous at all.
That's beach is called broken for a reason, and why people are on top of it?. Just enjoy the view from the save distance.
There is a trail and it's about 10 meters wide up there. A bit of spray from a once in a year wave is no big deal.
