Gladiator Hitting Trail #16 at Windrock TN!
Jeeps getting Smashed, Scratched, and Cracked! This sloppy mess of a trail put everything to the test. Windrock TN is knows for some tough trails, and Trail 16 is at the top of that list. Was taking a brand-new Gladiator down the trail a good idea? You tell me!

Jeep WK2 - National Forest Red River New Mexico
I recognize the goose lake trail but do you mind telling me what the others were? I’m taking my two young boys up in a few weeks and trying to figure out a good plan of what all to hit in our JK. Any advice would help.. thanks
@@DerekThompson-gd3ng the wet one is Pioneer CT. Always stay to the right going up. It dead ends way up top. The other you enter near Mallette Park
lol "Good luck Toyotas". Thats cute. How many rubber duckies were harmed in the making of this video?
I dont claim any of those duck people! That is a different crowd.
Hey I went off-roading yesterday and all the sudden there’s a high pitched buzzing coming from my fuel tank. Any ideas?
Is it still running normal?
@@rubiatoroutdoors yes, I spent an hour pressure washing the chassis and outside today, and it’s I still hear it. No performance change. Googled it and it said it could be either the filter, the pump which might be failing, or if you go off-roading the fuel sloshing in the tank could cause the pump to suck in air which can mess it up too. Google likes to put all these bad possibilities into your head at the same time so idk. Changing fuel filter soon, we’ll see what happens. 97 grand Cherokee 5.2, 130k miles btw Edit: I doubt that it could be failing because I never heard it until I went on some rough trails yesterday, leads me to believe that it could of sucked in air or something else related to the rough driving could of caused it
@LuNa-yd1fz my first thought was also the fuel pump. They have a slight vibration to them. If the pump or the line changed position, it could be barely vibrating against something. Have you ever been using a pressure washer and the pressure hose touches something as you are using it? It will make a vibrating noise... I wouldn't think it's failing if it hasn't cutout or shuddered.
@@rubiatoroutdoors good point, guess i was concerned because the sound sounded mechanical, like an electric motor. No performance issues though, like the engine surging or stalling, or rough idling which are all symptoms of a failing fuel pump. Thanks for the help, the trails here in spain are pretty cool. The Pyrenees especially.
@LuNa-yd1fz that would be a heck of a trip to get the Gladiator over there!
Is this where we are going in November!!??😮
@@eusojgarcia1 No, we are going to Missouri, less mud, more rocks
I'm glad I wasn't there in the rain, what a slog.
It's always a bummer when you plan something for 6-8 months, we didnt have a plan for that!
Sport or touring?
@@Lefishn sport!
Gold Mountain is always fun.
Never is to much cheese!!!!😅
We thought that before as well, but you can, in fact, have too much cheese!
Merus Adventure Park. We need to go back Kenny
I agree!!
sick build - stay cool, man! =]
Thanks! At least it cools off at night.
? Why would some one by a $68,000 to $120,000 Jeep Wrangler then take it to get beat up & at 5 MPH 😂😂😂😂😂😂 They are meant to explore & have fun 25 MPH but thank God you guy are not in this places 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Jeeps are intended for whatever you want to do with them. We dont build them to drive down easy dirt roads! We have put them in every situation imaginable, and had them in a few places they had no buisness being in. Its an adult lego set, build them how you want! Thanks for watching!
Great video!! Where is this?? Really like to go there!
15 mins from your house!! Let's go
This was in your old backyard!
Awesome!!!
What exhaust is this? Sounds great!
Corsa, when I was editing, I was thinking the same thing. I never hear it from outside the jeep.
Pretty cool 👍
Thanks! You ready to join on the next few?
Great video!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Please share links to the rack and panels. This is exactly what I'm trying to build. Thanks
On amazon search: Gladiator roof rack. Its the Hooke half rack for $299. At Harbor Frieght: its the 100w Thunderbolt solar panel. They are usually $119, but they put them on sale for $85 a few times a year.
@@rubiatoroutdoors awesome thanks! Did you paint the solar panel frames black?
@@jfrazier30 Yeah, they come silver.
Awesome how they fit so perfectly
It's spelled mountain!! Rookie mistake
i replaced everything in the front end high end components only running 35s...shimmy still there......finally replaced ball joints by my instructions even though 3 shops said they werent bad. well that all but fixed any shimmy...better than new steer smarts drag link, sector shaft brace, tie rod, jks track bar, new tires, wheels, alignment, teraflex stabilizer. finally BALL JOINTS...
Sometimes they are such a pain to diagnose. Did you go back with factory ball joints?
Great video!! You mention summer months, do you believe May time would be the perfect time?
This was the Labor Day weekend. I love fall colors, so for me that is the perfect time. But I am sure may is great!!
@@rubiatoroutdoors did y’all have to air down much?
@@nikoazucenas1989 not for these trails. I don't think we did at all now that I am thinking about it. It does make for a smoother ride though
@@rubiatoroutdoors thanks for your help with your info. I have the new gen Canyon on 34s, hoping it’ll be as easy as y’all made it look
@nikoazucenas1989 all trails are super easy over there.
how do you setup a remote start like that?
I purchased an aftermarket remote start. It was a plug and play device that uses your existing keypad. You just hit Lock-Unlock-Lock and boom. The brand is Kleinn.
Why do I get the feeling that dad is just doing all this just for the kids Lol !!? . When dads real fun is when he gets to have all his other friends with jeeps go out way out of town for there fun 😊!!? Up for the hills kinda fun that is 😂 that explain the mellow he's in with no smile 😂😂
I really enjoy these small trips with the kids! They soak everything up. My favorite is doing this type of tril in the mountains with them, but that takes at least 4 days.
Grabbed a 21 completely stock ecodiesel with 11k miles on the clock. Drove 5hrs home from the dealer under 30degrees and it death wobbled twice on the trip home. I replaced the stabilizer with a fox pass thru today. Test drove at 28 degrees today and could feel it teying to start in the normal construction zone spot it does it and the stabilizer seemed to take out most of it. I cant seem to find anything loose in the suspension.
Once it happens, you get gun shy and start thinking its going to happen everywhere.
@@rubiatoroutdoors put hd ball joints in. the more you look into ball joints on jeep seems stock only last about 5-10 miles showing no typical signs of play but are bad. the same shop that told me i didnt need them, installed teraflex hd ball joints and said the previous ones felt very weak in comparison. fixed my shimmy DW.
Have you had to do any maintenance on the Smartcap? Tightening bolts or anything
I have had it for over 3 years now, and the only thing I have done is change out the clamps that hold it to my bed. The ones that came with it bent when I was wheeling really hard up a 60-degree hill with a RTT. Other than that, I can say it is well worth the money!
Do u recommend going there in December
We go every December, we are leaving this Thursday to head over there. It's an awesome small town! Trails are slim during the winter.
JuSt experienced for the first time, 21 gladiator with 25k
It makes you so gun shy after the first time!
@@rubiatoroutdoors you are right, especially slowing down to like 35mph on the expressway to get it to stop
What is powering the lights in the bed?
The tow harness positive wire.
Great additions to your rubicon. I just bought a 2023 and was looking at mods others have done. I think mine will look alot like yours when I get through.
They are such a great platform to build off of!!
Dear jeues I pray everything will be okay amen!
I think they have it under control now , but it took a few days
I live in tx I hate this🤬🤬😭😭
Its so dry!
i dont understand why some have it and some dont, ive had 2 gladiators and i havent experienced it both OEM stock
What size tires are you running? Mine are 37s, I bet the size and weight are huge facotor.
Well based on the channel name....I would say there is a Bias...not like you do t like Rubicons anyway 😅
I like all vehicles!!
It’s always great to see someone who is super stoked about their own vehicle. I hope it brings you many more years of enjoyment and adventure. - A Land Cruiser owner
I had my last one for 1 year and 11 months and put 89k miles of pure fun on it!
Texans with jeeps and utvs ruined these trails for motorcycles! Don't they have trails in Texas n Oklahoma?
We dont have many mountain trails! The trails are for everyone to enjoy and get outside! The town of red river is kept alive by Texans and other nearby states
Definitely going and we taking our Tacos
Yes, an apple is 10 times better than android and Samsung
Jeez, I've been seriously considering getting a new Gladiator. I think I may go a different route now since all these Jeeps are falling apart with very few miles on them. I have a Scat Pack Widebody with the 305 tires. Every time I drive it cold, the front end wobbles until the tires warm up then it's smooth sailing. Perhaps your tires are just cold and have a flat spot on them until they warm up?
It's hard to get perfectly round 37" tires. When they are cold, I think you can feel the imperfections.
Great video, my home state, places I’ve yet to visit: thanks for piquing my interest! Please pan your camera a bit slower to take in the details and not get vertigo.
I love northern NM!!
Would have bought that smart cap
I bought the same truck in another color, then switched everything over.
How do u like the smart cap?
@richardcerebe7011 It's the most amazing addition I have added. Its well built and worth the cost
How many miles back did you have to drive to this spot?
From the freeway, maybe 8-10. From pavment about two, offrod about 1/2 miles. Unfortunately, people found this spot after this and started trashing it, so they closed it. But i found another!
Great video. We're considering a camping & SXS trip to Red River. Thank you for not blasting hip hop music during the video like others.
There are a lot of sxs there. Nice easy trails with great views! Thanks for the positive comments!!
Was this gooselake trail?
Part of the video, yes!
Your insurance will total that
They did total it, but not due to that. They actually fixed the axle but found the frame was bent.
The new weak point the axle shaft disconnect.. who was the bright engineer at the new Fiat place that designed that ..👎🏼
Agreed!! The dealer had another in with the same issue. it seems the passenger tire can not take a direct hit..
@@rubiatoroutdoors The jk axles are a lot stronger because of that, but when they break, its at the tracbar mount. At least they made the tube a bit bigger and thicker... still not up to par like the rear dana 44s
@@mails5054 it could have been much worse if the car would have hit the Jeep instead of just the front tire!
@@rubiatoroutdoors yeah thats odd the frame bent, even odder they just didnt swap a new frame under it, or a section. Maybe your state doesnt do that. New frames are easy for dealerships that are good, which is probably not a lot these days
@@mails5054 they definitely do frame swaps here, but from what I understand that particular insurance company will not pay for a frame swap.
It's a Jeep thing 😂
What did you hit?
A BMW hit my front right tire
My understanding is that the main issue causing the death wobble was the aluminum steering box with aluminum bolts the factory used. In 2020 Jeep moved to a steel steering box and steel bolts but there is an issue with defective steering stabilizer. My dealership is back ordered in the hundreds it such a problem. My death wobble in my 2021 JT just stated at 11,000 miles. I’m starting with a Fox 2.0 shaft through stabilizer. My JT is fully factory at the moment so very strange.
The fox stabilizer fixed my issue completely
Mine started at 2100 miles in a stock overland
Another quality jeep😂😂😂😂😂
They will only take so much, I guess the BMW was too much haha
Its a jeep thing
