I enjoy watching all things Arizona videos. But why would a builder build a house and have that much backyard? That's enough for another house or it should have been a bigger House and of all the Lots are the size.They could have built an additional ten Houses and reduce the price of each.I just don't see the reasoning behind all this I've always been the type of person.That was able to think outside the box

We're from the Big Island, Hilo, Hawaii and had the pleasure and opportunity to explored Surprise, AZ several years ago. We liked the convenience of lots of shopping locations Prasada off the 303/Waddle, tons of restaurants, many golf courses, pickle ball, tennis & aquatics at the Civic Center, home to the World Series Champions Texas Rangers & K.C. Royals spring training facilities, Ottawa University, hiking the White Tank Mountains, minutes from Lake Pleasant, the 60 west will lead you towards Las Vegas, The new Dessert Diamond Casino is being built next to the zoo on Northern/303. Many new residential builds are being developed off 163rd, Asante Blvd, W. Happy Valley Rd. We liked it so much we ended up purchasing a home last year in the Escalante by Fulton Homes development. I enjoyed your ohana's day tour of Surprise.🤙

It's shameful how the state of Arizona has allowed all those investors and contractors to come in and build all these expensive homes and buy up all the land.😢

First, no one who lives here calls it "Maricopa City." It's just Maricopa. Though maybe that was to differentiate it from Maricopa County -- which is not our county -- we're in Pima. I would recommend the place to the self-employed, remote workers, and the retired. If you have to commute to the Phoenix area, you're in for a big frustrating mess every work day. The 347 cannot handle the traffic and backs up horribly during rush hour. And people drive like maniacs on that road -- serious accidents happen with unfortunate regularity. Which backs the traffic up even worse. The restaurant situation is getting better, as new places are opening all the time (Nando's being the most recent -- excellent food). We do need another grocery store -- as the parking lots fill up fast and check out lines can be awful -- particularly at Fry's. There are a good number of excellent food trucks, if that's your thing. Movie fans should note the Ak-Chin Theater has a fair number of screens and shows all the popular releases. If you want the art house, revival, or foreign films, a 30 minute drive to the Majestic Cinema Grill in Chandler (former Alamo Draft House) will be your best bet. There's a multi-screen AMC in Ahwatukee -- but last time I was there they screwed up my screening so badly, I'm hesitant to go back. Most homes are in planned neighborhoods, with HOAs. If you're not willing to tolerate HOA rules, this place isn't for you. Halloween is a big deal here -- depending on your neighborhood. Lots of holiday decorations. We've consistently had over 300 kids every year we've been here. Folks just set up outside on their front porch and hand out candy, 'cause otherwise you'd be answering your doorbell every 60 seconds. What no one will warn you about is the occasional aroma that wafts in from the feedlots on the outskirts of town. Some have nicknamed the place "Maricowpie." At its worse, ithe stench really is awful. "The smell of money!" some will respond. Well, I've had money from time to time -- and it never smelled like that. And then there are the accompanying flies. But that's just sometimes, when the wind is blowing in the right (wrong?) direction. In times of milder temps, it can be quite lovely here. For the rest of the year, just make sure your central air is working at 100%. After 8 years, that's my take on the place.
