Worst tutorial ever
After you do the loop cuts, how are you moving both loop cuts equal distances in a mirrored away (~2:34)? Would be more helpful if there was a display on the screen showing what commands/buttons you press. Edit: watched a different tutorial and that youtuber alt-click selected the faces created in between the edge loops and scaled it
That's right, you select both loops and scale it on the axis

Nice model, I was searching for an inspiration for low poly modelling a pair of sneakers. If I can give you a couple of suggestions based on tons of tutorials I've seen, I'd speed up the clip a little, in real-time it's really too slow a process to follow. In addition, having the keystrokes shown on screen would help following your work much better and some passages would be pretty much self explanatory. I use blender since lots of time and could follow the modelling quite easily and understand what you've done, but e.g. the gentleman above couldn't understand something that was made through a key combination. Nice work overall!
