    My nurses were hopeless and clueless ; they had to consult a chart for the "correct" weight for my height ! Weighed naked each morning by a skeletally skinny nurse,, wasn't "allowed" to even do crosswords because "you might burn calories" !!

    In France, when I was in hospital I got to decide if I wanted to know my weight or not !! So sorry for your terrible inpatient treatment, I relate to a lot but that place you are describing seems to be so horrible, like how can that be « legal » for a mental hospital to do those things, I can’t even understand how it can be still going on like this…

      How was the treatment you received in France? I’m from the U.S. but my family is French and planning on moving back to France soon. I had to be hospitalized a few months ago for treatment & I’m doing much better now but there’s always that risk that I’ll relapse and have to be admitted again.

    Unfortunately a mental health unit in a hospital doesn’t help you like you truly needed. If you ever need to be hospitalized again I beg you to find a specialized eating disorder mental health unit or hospital. You deserve a true place to heal.

    this happened to me earlier this year i was admitted to a psychiatric unit for the 3rd time & they told me “we can’t help you with your ED, we’re here to make sure you don’t harm yourself” and they even said they wouldn’t stop me from p.urging either (which i didn’t bc i was going through psychosis) it was a horrible experience for me and i never want to go back there while struggling with a mental illness with the highest mortality rate!

    • @wasterdays
      @wasterdays 10 месяцев назад

      also i constantly brought them a tray full of food three times a day as well as hoarded food in my room that i never left because i was so frightened by the men in the unit who kept touching and sexualizing my sick body…

    I was able to see my weight at an eating disorder unit, it was an adult hospital (even tho I’m 16) and they didn’t care for mental health at all, they specifically said it’s not important in the refeeding process so they wouldn’t care if you saw your weight or not, only some nurses realised how detremiental it could be and for girls who weren’t able to see their weights without breaking down would write it in their notes, loved the video btw xx

    I can definitely relate to basically everything you say. my inpatient experiences were pretty much the same: unprofessional nurses, and that glamorizing... missing it. Which is stupid because it was always horrible. But it was “escaping” the real world for sure. But yeah, most of the healing really happens at home. Stay strong angel x

    You honestly are amazing Porsche ❤️ I’m sorry that you’re experience wasn’t the best, but from that I can see how much you’ve grown as a person and just how strong YOU are. Not your disorder. Sharing your experience, for me, reassured me of a few things that I didn’t think others experienced, so thank you. Keep up the amazing work, bumps included. Love you lots and I know that so many people will agree when I say you really are an amazing, wonderful and kind person. ❤️❤️

    Actually in Germany at least it’s common to know your weight when in inpatient. Sometimes they even force you to look at the scale.. Also you said so true things at the end, oh my god you spoke my thoughts about romanizing inpatient.. It’s also a really good video and I’m sorry you had to go through this.. Love you, stay strong 💪🏻❤️

    You’re so brave for posting this! You’re going to help so many people (including me) to not feel so alone 💖 I feel the same thoughts you were talking about and I cannot explain how comforting it is to see that someone else has the same thoughts, although I wish you didn’t have to feel the same way 😣 but it just shows how devastating that “sick enough” attitude is, because I’m sitting here thinking ‘awww Porsche you were sick enough you are deserving of recovery’ but I have the same thoughts as you, so it helps show me that I can recover no matter what the thoughts are saying 💖

    • @porschechevelle2772
      @porschechevelle2772 4 года назад

      Exactly!! This is the realisation I had that made me really dive into recovery, I realised if I felt that way about other people then it really proves to me just how disordered my thinking is!💖 I am so glad you enjoyed the video & so proud of you for choosing recovery x
