My dear pen pal Lisa Greaves lived in Small Heath. I miss her much, and wish I'd been able to visit her there back in the day.

You always have to be careful driving here. Too many don't indicate when turning left or right and pull out from junctions without warning.

I was born in small heath. Went to school in small heath. Played in small heath park. My parents shopping, was on the Coventry road.. The community has changed. Back in the 60s it was, the whites, the Irish, and the Caribbeans...Thanks for sharing.

Gone are the good olds days of the High Street. Hillards, Chelsea Girl, Woolworths, Windbush the bakery, Hitchens, Burtons, TSB, etc.
There was also Tesco, Boots, Maturis, Bob's Models, Dewhirsts, House Of Holland, CoOp and Hitchens. Now Nationwide is gone.
All those shops have even closed down in rural white areas too

@@huddydhuddus4938disgusting. In Chicago, there’s a neighborhood that I used to live in that was once a nice good ol fashioned American neighborhood, like Main Street in any small town. Then the pakis took over in the 80s and it’s been a damn shithole ever since. The place is littered with garbage, drug addicts, it’s ugly and it smells. Kinda like small heath now.
