Build this Machine to Cut Better Pocket Holes for Your Projects
In this video, I shared my views on the Kreg pocket hole jig. I then demonstrated how I cut better pocket holes with the machine I built. The machine is designed based on the Castle Pocket Cutter Machine, which costs $1,800 plus to purchase. It costs me about $200 in materials and hardwares to build one myself.

Prototype for an Ultimate Doweling / Domino Machine
Просмотров 7526 месяцев назад
To make dowel and domino joinery in an efficient way, I design and build this machine. The position of the cutter can be finely adjusted by turning threaded rod and the cutting is achieved by moving the work piece in linear motion. After putting everything together, I realized that this machine does not meet my expectations so far. 1) It's not accurate perhaps due to the machine's structural ri...

    Hey Mr. Jimmy Jonathon Katz-Moses has a patent pending jig that does the same thing. I salute you for coming up with this homemade devise that does the very same thing and its cheap to make!!! My compliments to you for making this device with everyday supplies and it is I believe to be every bit as accurate. Keep the projects coming, your site is not only a benefit to us hobbyist and woodworkers but encouraging us to use our gray matter to invent or inspire fellow practioners.

    The Kreg jig drives the drill bit in at approximately 15 degrees I am told. Castles jig drives the drill bit in at 3 degrees I believe. Almost perpendicular as you have mentioned. A much better design that almost guarantees no shift in stock when screwing boards together!

    Great project! Nicely done. I feel like both your snd KM tool is making the alignment to kerf easier. However, if you raise the blade and use that accurate square against the blade as a reference, should be just as accurate to get the back fence square :) Like I said, I like the effort you put in and it is a great outcome.

    I am currently looking to build my own hinge, since i have a mft table but no table saw. I still struggle to make square repeatable cuts. Your video gave me great inspiration. Thank you. Also i saw you have both the track and the table saw. Something i am debating avout for a long while. Do you use both frequently?

    • @jimmywoodworking
      @jimmywoodworking 2 месяца назад

      I use a table saw much more often than a track saw. In my opinion a table saw is the most important tool in a shop as it cuts accurately and efficiently. You can build numerous jigs for a table saw to achieve all kinds of cuts whereas the use of a track saw is somehow limited to breaking up large sheet goods and producing tear out free cut on veneered plywood.

    It's crazy how you go from a hand held pocket hole jig for I think about $40 to an expensive machine that costs a ridiculous amount of money to make something so simple. You sir, have cracked the code and made it affordable to the common man, thank you 😁
