    Hi, thank you for the video. As i try to import the model and do a boolean subtract it says me "Discrete boolean failed. Consider imprinting nearly coincident faces to avoid failures and poor quality results." How can avoid this? my model is complex so i cannot repair anty single feature and the repair surface tool deletes me so many fundamental parts of the model. I can't go ahead, so I'll be glad if you can help me

    I really appreciate your video, i have one question if you don't mind. I would like to know if you have an experimental results of this simulation before ?

      Yes our team went to the windtunnel multiple times and did other forms of testing to quantify the CFD.

    Try using near core layer aspect ratio to help with prism layer to core mesh transition, it will allow you to set your prism layer height with something more justifiable than what you have. Sounds like you have an understanding of it, but just in case look into wall y+. I would also recommend looking into volume refinements on your ground to have save your self mesh count in your ground instead of the surface refinement. a box 1.5 ish card widths seems to do the trick. Nice sim overall!

    Hey Valero! I am a rookie in CFD and a part of a newer FSAE team. I really appreciate your video tutorial about the FSAE vehicle simulation setup but I have some questions if you don't mind me asking! I am currently trying to simulate my radiator and I got up to your portion of the video of making its own region but for the boundary condition, I am unsure of what I should put. I was suggested mass flow inlet and outlet for rad intake and exhaust respectively but this suggestion comes from someone with no credentials. Also, when simulating the rotating wheels, I am getting Cl of 3+, which I think is unrealistic. I've made 2 coordinate systems (one for each axle) and set the wheel to rotate about their respective axles via setting the tangential velocity from fixed to local rotation rate, selecting the corresponding coordinate system, and setting the rotational speed.

    The prism layer to trim cell transition is too sudden. Need to increase the number of prism layers. Waiting for Part 3. Good Job

      Thanks! Ill be making alot more vids this season, finishing this series and alot more CFD. I like how my prism layers are currently, I receive great results. The trim cell or main mesh could defiantly be refined in this video though.

      @@sebastianvalero3804 if the results are good it doesn't matter. But I'll make the transition smoother. Anyways, It'll be great to see another video from you :)

    Hi, at 0:50 u mentioned abt repairing surfaces and getting no errors, i tried that on my imported x_t cad model and showed that there was over 200 problems.. do uk how to resolve this? thank you

    • @sebastianvalero3804
      @sebastianvalero3804 4 года назад

      Are the errors green or red? Green represents a geometry with 0 thickness and you will need to thicken it even if its .001 inches. Red means you have interfering geometry and you will have to correct that some way in cad

    • @ileonlite
      @ileonlite 4 года назад

      @@sebastianvalero3804 Hi it all shows red, may i know any way to correct it? if i do not correct it and just continue with the simulation, are there any negative effects of it? another qns, may i know what is 'split by patch for'?

    • @sebastianvalero3804
      @sebastianvalero3804 4 года назад

      @@ileonlite where it shows red those parts are going through each other. open it in cad and either separate them by a super small amount or make it a solid body so the inside is solid and the parts are now one singular piece. Split by patch is so you can assign each wall on a box or radiator to be a specific thing aka inlets or outlets
