The music speaks for itself. John Williams did a fabulous job composing the score. The way at the end of the movie it tells us that “The Shark is dead and our heroes return home, victorious.” Steven Spielberg is an absolute wizard and legend and so is Williams. The iconic duo between Spielberg and Williams will not and cannot be broken. The music also has some emotion into it. Brody and Hooper went through hell trying to convince the Mayor to close the beaches and to hunt it down with Quint. And the fact that the music holds a farewell to Quint is like very interesting. This movie is an absolute masterpiece. DO. NOT. REMAKE. IT!!!!!

The last scene where John Wayne holds his Elbow was in honor of the Great Harry Carey! Great movie!!!

This movie was actually smuggled throughout the Soviet Union despite censors keeping it from being screened. While the government didn't want to show the film because they despised Western cinematography portraying Russian Culture wanting to keep it to home brewed studios, the Russian People loved the film and was one of the first underground hits of a Western film circulating in the Soviet Union. Just another underrated masterpiece by David Lean.

Coming back to this because I can't find this version of the song anywhere, I mean.. I can find the version of the song that was sung here, but for every video I've tried, the song doesn't sound right.

This ending could be good or bad, that depends if the Cajuns joined the national guard and was helping the Cajuns hunt down their squad, or it could be a good ending and the debriefing will be epic.

I think what adds to the positivity of this ending is Julie’s ambiguous line to “Dorothy” after her break-up with Ron - she admits that since she met Dorothy, while she’s valued her friendship, she has also never felt so alone and wants something that she cannot have. I personally interpret this as her saying she wishes she could find a man with Dorothy’s qualities. And here she realizes she has found that man, all along. So she’s willing to open up her heart again one more time. Beautiful.

It’s amazing how they felt they had to improve the sequel ( TWOK ) drastically to keep the film series alive, even though The Motion Picture was way ahead of its time in terms of special effects and score, only let down by a very weak story plot. But boy did they nail TWOK!.
