Vinyl Finds #24 Inspired by the Vinyl Communinty
Some albums I heard and liked in 2024 (an ongoing list): Sleepytime Gorilla Museum: Of The Last Human Being Shellac: To All Trains Belly: 96 Miles To Bethlehem Goat Girl: Below The Waste High On Fire: Cometh The Storm Arooj Aftab: Night Reign Chelsea Wolfe: She Reaches Out To She Chat Pile: Cool World Blood Incantation: Absolute Elsewhere
Thanks, great list there. I do still miss a few of them like Arooj Aftab & Chelsea Wolfe that I do need to pick up soon. Cheers
Great list! Happy new year!
Thanks Jonas, Happy New Year, cheers
One of my commenters convinced me to buy that Uncle Acid album so I bought the deluxe edition. Still waiting on it. Pink Floyd plays metal, now tat sounds interesting. I really have loved the music coming out of Japan. Mono sounds interesting
Steve, great to hear. Uncle Acid is a great "Soundtrack" like album and Mono is fantastic. Cheers
My bASS lines were mentioned, yay! :) Nice words regarding Ryan's record. That Kriegshog is a rad album for sure. Happy I picked it up as well. You always show so diverse stuff, which is good. Happy New Year Janne.
Thanks Mika, yeah the bass lines sounds great and give an amazing groove on the album. The Kriegshog is really cool. Happy New Year my friend, cheers
Great stack of records, many here for me to check out. Happy New Year my friend, Cheers
Thanks Joaquim, yes indeed, a diverse pack of music, looking forward to see what your top was during 2024. Happy New Year my friend, cheers
Happy New Year
Happy New Year my friend. Cheers
Good to see that The Cure and Judas Priest are still in top form. Ryan Kidd is such a cool dude. Great bunch of records.
Thanks Richie, yes it great to see that the old farts still can do it. Ryan Kidd is both cool and make great music. Cheers
Hey Janne! Love that Cure album! Also have Lucifer - give me anything with Nicke! Happy New Year!
Steve, great to hear. The Cure was unexpectedly good. And Lucifer is fantastic. Happy New Year my friend, cheers
Hej Janne! Nice to see you're doing well during Christmas. Cool records, almost every one is new to me, but sounds interesting. Gott nytt år!
Hej Jonas, tack allt är väl här hoppas givetvis detsamma med dig. Gott Nytt År!
Well nothing says Merry Christmas like Black Sabbath. God Yul Janne. Congrats on MiloGoes to College. Some nice VCLT. I love that Ngozi album, it has gotten a lot of plays.
Thanks Steve, yeah it suits nice when doing a video :) Thanks, Milo has been a long on my wantlist, feels good to tick it off. Joaqium is fantastic and very helpful. Ngozi was the best release from the last RSD, love it. Cheers
I'm not familiar with Bloodstains - I'll try to stream some. Milo Goes To College is one of my favorites - such a great record. I saw The Descendants in 1984 or 1985....somewhere in there...The rest of the records you showed all looked interesting too....Zamrock and HenkI...Happy Holidays!
Thanks Randall, Bloodstains is a great Claifornia based punk rock band, you're in for a thrill ride of instantly infectious songs, that will make you feel like a teenager again. It's great to tick of the box with "Milo Goes To College", Oh you have seen them live, how fun that would have been, I'm a little jealous of you now. The Zamrock was the best RSD release this time, give it a spin, wonderful. Henki Is a nice collaboration between England and Finland with a fun story. Happy Holidays and happy new year, Cheers
Nice BS sweater Janne!
Thanks Gustavo, I do like alot, Happy Holidays, Cheers
Really cool Christmas shirt. Interesting to see Circle on your hands. Though not suprising. Have a nice Christmas mr. Finglish (Bäd English Recs)
Thanks mr. Finglish, yeah the christmas shirt is cool. I got plenty of Circle, my favorite finish band and this is kinda cool. Happy New Year my friend. Cheers
This is great, I’ll have to do one of these. Cheers brother
Thanks, yeah skulls are fun! Cheers brother.
😮👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
Awesome skull entry Janne! You know well that I am a sucker for swedish bands :) I know most of them, but I only have that Avatarium album on physical media. Actually I just bought an album by My Regime as a blind buy and they sound like Slayer, a swedish slayer! Good luck \m/
Im happy that you enjoyed it. To be honest i have not heard "My Regime", need to check up the Swedish Slayer band. Cheers
Hey Janne! Not sure I can come up with as many as you. Cheers!
Hey Steve, Im sure you have some skulls in your collection :) Nice to see you are comming back, looking forward for your upcoming video next year. Have a marvelous christmas and happy new year, cheers brother.
Nice skull selection. I was waiting Candlemass Epicus Doomicus Metallicus cover. Could that be the most know swedish skull cover? And nice that you included one finnish band too Finntroll. The singer Jan was working in my shop about 20 years ago. Huh, how time flies! I had finally film vid for this.
Thanks Tommy, yeah was thinking of it, but I did show some Candlemass last time i did a skull entry so I skipped it. Finntroll are cool, this is the one and only album i have with them and amazing that you know the singer. Cool, I will check your channel... Cheers brother.
@popsandclicks Tack Janne. God jul och gått nytt år!
Awesome to see you hop on this tag, Janne. Great selections and glad you chose some Swedish artists to showcase. I think you’re the first person to show Bon Iver. His music is perfect for this tag. I don’t have a lot soundtracks either. Almost all of them are on CD, but I do have The Passion. It’s an excellent album. Don’t listen to Steve saying he has no sad music. He’s swimming in it! Maybe he just doesn’t pay attention to the lyrics. How does someone that portends to say they are a huge Velvet Underground fan say they have no sad music? Lol. Thanks again for your response. I enjoyed it. Cheers! ✌🏻
Thanks, I happy that you enjoyed it. Love to showcase music from Sweden, so much that never get the attention it should have. Yes Bon Iver have some sad tunes. Hopefully Steve jump onboard, would have cool to see what he is pulling of his sleeve. Cheers
Lmao Janni , I have no sad music, I only do happy music but I will try to figure this out. It may take some thought which could kill me. Last Temptation of Christ is a great soundtrack. Maybe I will just pull out all my blues albums, when have you ever heard a happy blues song lol
Haha Steve, well im sure you have, just pick some Lou Reed or Nick Cave or why not some Blues and you are home safe. Cheers
Hard to go wrong with the Ramones, nice picks!
Thanks!
My parents had that Bridge Over Troubled Water record and the flogged the hell out of it. I don't need to hear it ever again 😂 "This record is really sad. Melissa is really sad" That really made me laugh. I have a sad sense of humour. Is your Nick signed by Nick? Those blue eyes on Kent are amazing. Is that for real. Loved your pick for The Smiths. Your Band Of Horses is signed too! I don't have many signed things. I feel really uncomfortable in those situations and don't really like to meet people I admire. I think you are one of the only people I have seen actually show Garbage with the actual song Only Happy When It Rains and then Sabbath 😂Well done mate. Cheers...Ben
Ben, thanks. I totally agree with you on the Simon And Garfunkel, I think I was a bit optimistic when I say that I play this at least once a year, that is most likely a lie, can't remember when I aired this on the record player last time...haha. Yeah Melissa Horn is very sad lady, just spin her and you will understand. Yes the Nick Cave and Band Of Horses are signed, worked with both of them back in the days when I did alot of shows. I think I might do a video about it somedays. Nick is a real gentleman. Regarding the Kent, yes she has real blue eyes as far as I know as Scandinavia is pretty blue, regarding eye color. Haha about the Garbage...I thought it was a bit fun to add it. Thanks again my friend. Looking forward to your entry, cheers.
@ I’d love to see a video with your Nick Cave story & other bands you worked with. In what capacity were you involved with touring bands?
Coming back son my Swedish brother! First video will post Jan 1
Lots of new music to me, though I've heard of a couple. Enjoy!
Thanks man, I hope you found something that you like, cheers
@popsandclicks I did! A few things!
I didn't know any of these except Ryan Adams, Hellacopters & of course Bowie,. A lot of cool artwork on these tenners. Good luck with your big project. Cheers...Ben
Ben thanks, yeah those are the known ones, it was fun thread to take part of. Cheers
I have all my 10” records together.
You gotta keep 'em together 👍
Yeah, they have to be together or else they might get lost in the collection. Cheers
Nice to see Jussi Björling record! Wide selection of different genres... I continue to lost 10"s among LPs. Lol.
Tommy, Yeah they are a pain in the ass to store. Cheers
Cool video. The funny thing is, I had never heard of 10" records when I started buying records years ago. I only learned about them much later. It is a curious format. I really like the cover of the Sâver / Frøkedal record. Very cool to see your 10" records 🙂
Thanks, yeah I think it took a while even for me to understand it. Sâver / Frøkedal might be something for you and the artwork is really nice. Cheers
Great to see a mention to KSMB, the devil stole the beat from the lord it’s a cracking tune!!! Next week I’ll be sending a package your way, don’t work too hard my friend Cheers
Joaquim thanks, yes KSMB is great one from Sweden. Oh yeah "the devils...." is freaking good. The last few weeks was pretty heavy, now it's cooling down and soon some great holiday. Looking forward to the package, thanks my friend. Cheers
Great video. I love that Bowie album. And I love Kent, sadly any vinyl by them is hard to find in the states, so I have most of their albums on CD. Cheers
Bobby thanks, the Bowie is good, cool that you dig Kent, the albums can be even hard to get here in Sweden, but you see them once in while. Cheers
wow, that's a long wooden walkway at the end of the video. Swell dogs. One of them must have been walking right beside you most of the way - I couldn't tell it was there. That was an interesting stack of records. James Brown record looks great - is he playing organ on that one? I have a couple of his records on Smash that focus on his organ playing. That's an awesome red album cover on the last record you showed. Thanks for the update!
Randall, thanks, yes its a really long one, crossing the field that in the spring is very wet, hopefully I can do a walk then again. Yeah Rocky, the other dog is not so keen to walk on these so he stay close. James Brown is playing the organ, I should have mention it. The last one is Kungens Män album (Kingsmen) Cheers
Okay, that opening footage made me queasy. I wanted your dogs to slow down! I love 70s and 90s Emmy Lou albums. I love her voice. I may have to pick up the second Femmes album
Steve, sorry for that, it was a bit bumpy ride, need to get one of those nice gyro stands that keeps is levelled when walking. Emmylou has a fantastic voice. And yes you need the Femmes album. Cheers
That music made dog walking epic!! I really should get that second Violent Femmes record on vinyl. I need to check out Emmy Lou. I really like the stuff she did with Gram Parsons. I do dig the country music though. I have 37 JB records, but not that one. I like the look of True Moon. I'll have to check that one out. The last one that I didn't catch the name of has an amazing cover & I love pretty far out krautrock. If I only knew the name!! Cheers...Ben
Ben, Thanks. Sorry for the bumpy intro, need to get one of those gyro holder to keep it more stable when walking. Yes you should get the Violent Femmes album, it's really good. 37 Brown album...holy cow, that's alot. I guess we will see a Brown video soon from you. True Moon is good, might be something for you. The last one is Kungens Män (Kingsmen) Cheers
Violent Femmes are a group I need to delve into.
Great video and channel content, dude!! I want to recommend 2 vinyl releases to you. Medieval Death LP and free DVD and the Mordicus “Rights ‘n Trials” LP. If you want to know more Google [Medieval Death LP and free DVD + Mordicus “Rights ‘n Trials” LP], then check audio, videos etc. \m/
Can’t go wrong with Germs, I have a bootleg repress from the 90s but my friend had a first press that he just sold
Great video! Love that real kids record, I really like there cover of buddy hollys rave on. I like sandinista but it definitely isn’t my favorite clash record. The first Motörhead album is definitely my favorite! I love iron horse on that album. I could not get into leatherface, actually they are one of my mom’s favorite bands. Joan Jett is awesome! She doesn’t get shown enough in the VC
Can’t say I knew any of the records you showed but enjoyed the video!!
The first 3 Black Crowes records are killer. Soundscapes...you said the magic word. I will now check out those Swedish dudes Pg. I dig Front 242, but don't have that EP. A lot of cool artwork on these too. How funny I only recently listened to Blood Bank. Beautiful stuff. A lot to check out. Cheers...Ben
Thanks Ben, Black Crowes rocks. Haha Soundscapes are amazing!! PG.Lost might be just for you! Blood Bank is really nice! Cheers
Hey Janne. Those are some great EPs! Cheers
Thanks Bobby, Cheers
Great collection of EPS Janne. Not familial with any of the, look forward to streaming some of those. Cheers.
Thanks, yeah a big bunch of mixed EP's You should listen to "Blood Bank" with Bon Iver, that might be right in y our wheel house. Cheers
Great video my friend, of course bunch of records I don’t know nothing about it but some amazing cover art here. Cheers
Thanks Joaquim, yeah a bunch of great at work, love the last one with Jess and The Ancient Ones... so nice! Cheers my friend.
Hi Janne! I really enjoyed your response to this thread 🙂I am going to look these up, especially Pg.lost. I have a copy of the Front 242 release. It is excellent. I now have some listening to do 👍
Thanks Brain Im happy to hear that, enjoy the listning time. Cheers
Hey Janne. Since I'm so new to the VC, I've been going back and watching older videos by people I follow. This is a great video. I love that Art Blakey album. Nathan Davis, yes! And that Lou Donaldson is killer. Cheers
Thanks Bobby, no worries, you are more than welcome to watch the old stuff! Yeah it was a bunch of great Jazz records. Cheers
That’s awesome you got The Germs album. I want to find a OG of that album also. If you fly into Denver ever let me know, I’ll help you spend your record money lol
Thanks Steve, a great find indeed. Absolutely, If that day comes I will let you know. Cheers
do you know dohnaal truuumph?
Great video! Thanks for sharing. Love the Audience" album. I have 3 of their albums and that one in my humble opinion is their best. Nice snag on the Germs album! I dropped a new video yesterday myself. If you get a free sec check it out. Cheers 🙂
Thanks Bobby, cool, this is the only Audience i got sofar. I might pick up the others if I bump into them in the future. The Germs are cool, thanks for stopping by. Cheers
Hey Janne! Great video. Funny shaving bit up front. Thank you for the shoutout. It means a lot and I really appreciate it! Great choices. I only knew two of them. I have the album Party Animals by Turbonegro on CD. And I knew the Heavy Load album. The outtake bloopers at the end were funny. The animals were invading. 😂Good luck in the contest. Cheers
Thanks Bobby, haha I thought I have to include it, felt natural. You are welcome, I hope it sent over some traffic atleast. Cool, Turbonegro was a great band and Heavy Load are classic. Cheers.
I don't know the music but I like the video!
Thanks Brian, Cheers
Love that Heavy Load album! great entry Janne, I'm rooting for you on the win :) Good luck \m/
Thanks Gus, Heavy Load is cool. Take care man, cheers!
