I visited 17 years ago, I worked at the Myers Park Clinic, 5 minutes away and it was amazing.
Watch out for property taxes?! Did this lady just wake up from a coma? If you're not aware of property taxes, you have no business buying a house.
You gotta start somewhere. You wake up in a bad mood or are you always this delightful?
@tuduluoo7408 I'm crapping rainbows and unicorns 24/7 sweetheart
@@morm13268 Your children must love being around all your positivity!
@@tuduluoo7408 let's just say I've educated them enough to be aware of property taxes 🤣
Thanks Becky for consistently providing excellent counsel 🙏💖✨
Great video
This was so amazing and insightful, I love the visuals. Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you so much! 😊 I'm thrilled you enjoyed the visuals and found it insightful. Appreciate you watching and sharing your feedback!
Stop making videos, this is the worst video i’ve seen all week. -hate from Kansas you 304 roastie.

We living in the same economy?
yes we are! You are not going to be able to buy your ideal home immediately. But start somewhere. I have clients who purchased a property and 4 years later they are walking away with $80K after all selling expenses. It was NOT their ideal home but they bought what they could at that time.
The reason I’m the only comment so far is because you’re simply regurgitating basic info. You’re not adding value or entertainment to the virtual town hall. Want to hit higher engagement? Talk about what the upsides actually include. Paint the picture for a homeowner 1, 5, 15 years from now. Talk about the downsides since no realtor wants to tell you the downsides of owning a property like HOAs, tax, realtor fees, maintenance numbers. Your post is the opposite of engaging. Take this as constructive criticism.
Where can I focus on videos for retirees living close to amenities for groceries, restaurants, medical services, etc . within walking distance or for deliveries? Would rentals and condos therefore be around Fairview and Northern Blvd.? Or Dilworth?
And the average income is...... .... Way less than 100k

@@rosemarietolentino3218 why not? Curious on your perspective
Whaaa??? Omg, actually using psychology on how people work for therapy. Insane innovation
People with no clue are making videos miss leading people.
What do you think is misleading about this?
So a real estate agent who makes money selling property in myrtle beach just happens to also rank it as the best beach….right
I do not make any money selling beach homes...this is just my opinion of where I go to the beach. If you were new to the area and didn't know which beach to go to I hope this would help someone.
I lived in SouthPark two years ago. It was a joy!
NORTH CAROLINA HAS THE BEST WEATHER
This video is excellent‼️👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Thank you so much April! Do you live in South End or thinking about moving there?
Traffic is insane, I lived there for 3 years and it took 40 minutes to drive 2 miles when school started. I would not recommend. Only thing to do is drink and walk back to apartment, it’s miserable.
Becky, how good is Southend as a fit for older retired people looking for a quiet location with easy access to amenities, including condos and rental apartments? And how good is the infrastructure with the growing population? Roads, electricity, traffic, noise, sewer system, water snd gas lines?
@dovygoodguy1296 If you're in search of a tranquil area, Southend might not be the ideal choice. While I wouldn't say there's a shortage of infrastructure in Charlotte, the city has indeed been expanding for over two decades, leading to various developmental efforts. It's tough to generalize about the traffic or other aspects since everyone's perspective is influenced by their previous experiences. However, I've observed that traffic here is more manageable compared to a city like Atlanta. Having lived in Charlotte since 1999, I've witnessed both traffic increase and improvements in road infrastructure. In case you're interested in quieter places that still offer great amenities, there are several options, which vary depending on your budget and preferred amenities. I'd be happy to discuss this further to provide a more tailored suggestion. Feel free to email me your contact details, and we can set up a time to talk.
@@beckymccully Thanks. Appreciated.
Hello! Are there any aquatic centers with indoor pools in the Charlotte or surrounding areas? I am a swimmer so this is important for me. Thank you.
Hi! Yes we have a ton of indoor pool options! The various YMCA locations have indoor pools, and the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center.
PAY ME. I want to work.
Are there several establishments that play live music in Charlotte? Not talking about a concert venue but something similar to a bar in downtown Nashville?
YES! We have lots of live music local spots. The Evening Muse, Tremont, NC Music Factory are just a few. And then there are a ton of bars/restaurants that have regular live music on the weekends.
Lived in Charlotte from 1982 until 1995. We miss it. Myers Park has a special place in my heart. One of the loveliest neighborhoods in the country. I have been sorry to see some of the older homes on Queens torn down and replaced, but it is the way of things. We still live in NC and make our way to Charlotte a few times each year. The changes in the entire Charlotte area are mind blowing, but we are happy to see that the beauty of the trees and tranquil neighborhood streets still remain steadfast. Our hang out when we visit is Amelie’s at the Park Road shopping center. We still feel very at home in the Myers Park/SouthPark/Dilworth neighborhoods.
I agree and the entire Myers Park down to South Park area are some of my favorite parts of the city. And I love Amelie's...such a great casual hang out. And I can't resist the salted carmel brownies when I stop by!
This video was awesome. How would a Millennial LGBT couple do here? Is this a fairly accepting neighborhood?
Absolutely...this is a very diverse neighborhood and you would definitely be accepted!
Thank you for this, I’m moving to Charlotte from San Jose in 1-2 years and this really helps. Beautiful city
That is great...let me know if there is anything I can do to help you prepare for your move to Charlotte in the meantime! Call/Text 704-604-0271
It is a great city, no question. I've lived in the area for almost 20 years now. However, it is NOT affordable unless you're making 6 figures. 200k and up.
I'm curious if you are referencing housing as being unaffordable or in general?
@@beckymccully Primarily housing, though literally EVERYTHING is out of control as far as costs.
@@TheVosack sadly housing affordability is an issue everywhere since the last 3 years we had extremely high buyer demand and low supply of available homes. We are in an interesting time now where both buyer demand and housing supply are down. Usually one is high and the other low.
Thank you, great video.
Glad you liked it!
It is the most boring expensive place to live in the US.
I have to disagree with the diversity issue. I rarely go out without seeing Asians and Latinos as well, and I usually hear multiple languages spoken around town and see restaurants of diverse foods. There is also and Indian culture festival, Hispanic, Pride, Greek. Unless you live on the West side (nearly all black) or in Dilworth (nearly all white) the rest of the city is pretty diverse.
I absolutely believe it is diverse...however the context is important. If you compare Charlotte to NYC or Chicago someone will be disappointed with the diversity here. I love Charlotte and all it has to offer, AND I don't want to mislead someone coming from a larger metropolitan area which is where a large amount of people move here from.
Charlotte diversity at ranked 23rd and country you don't have a life
Is this area diverse?
It’s pretty much the old money community of Charlotte. I wouldn’t call it diverse. It’s very exclusive.
@@djr7144code words for it’s only welcoming for white people, if you aren’t denied access to purchase and get lucky, expect lots of dirty looks if you’re black
not welcoming to black people whatsoever*
Charlotte is a very diverse city
Moved out of South Park due to the high crime rate. Armed robberies of shoppers at the South Park mall and numerous car break ins in the gated, surveilled underground parking garage in my luxury apartment building The Encore located across from Symphony Park. Building Manager held a meeting with local police who informed us they could not assist us as they were understaffed and the high murder rate in CLT took precedence. Horrible!! The day I moved out, my movers were delayed waiting for police cruisers to clear the driveway. Eight cars had been broken into the previous evening - eight!!!
Curious where you moved to?
@@beckymccully the mountains
Thanks for your candor.
As far as I can tell, half of Charlotteans go to church and the other half steal their cars.
You don't have a life do you all you do is complain
Love this neighborhood.
Stop moving here! If you do, you better keep your eyes on your car. Car theft is a real thing here
If you're planning to move to a surrounding county of Charlotte and are expecting to commute into the city for work, be prepared for a long commute every day. Currently I live in Dallas, NC and it's 30 minutes on the I-85 to my job without traffic, and during rush hour it averages out to about 45 minutes each way. If there's an accident (which is frequent) I have to take back roads for 55 minutes to avoid the 1 hr+ traffic jam. All I can say is move as close as possible to your work if you don't like traffic.
The PRO is that is is another 3rd world dump The Con is that is is another 3rd world dump just like the US is that is is another 3rd world dump
Charlotte seems like a nice city, I definitely want to visit there one day.
You should!
We moved to the Charlotte area 25 years ago. The area has grown exponentially over that time. Traffic in Charlotte is horrendous. Do not move into Mecklenburg County. Property taxes and the auto insurance is high and the schools are terrible, also there is a lot of crime. Keep to the outlying counties.
The nice thing about the housing market here in Charlotte. You don't need a real estate agent to sell your home. Once you put your home on the market. It will sell very fast. I couldn't imagine paying 6% fee to sell my house. We get cash offers all the time. It's not even for sale.
I’ve been in the look of a new city to relocate from north Jersey. I think I found it ❤❤
Can you please share your honest opinion if Charlotte is an area where retirees who came from a different ethnic background other than White Americans are welcomed and treated with respect. Thank you.
Oh my gosh YES! While we do lack the diversity of some other cities, most people are very welcoming and friendly. And we have different niches of ethnic backgrounds that seem to congregate. There are a lot of companies that are based in other parts of the world such as Europe and Asia, that have major hubs here in the area. That has helped to bring more diversity to the region too because there is a rotating group of expats. In addition, there is a little Bosnian market and cafe that people originally from that are all seem to learn about. And the same thing with other nationalities.
@@beckymccully Thank you so very much for your kind response! We are thinking of moving to a 55+ community after retirement.
Thanks for this video. Charlotte just came up as a potential retirement location (from Omaha, Nebraska). It’s always about the cost of housing …. and weather. Trying to leave winter snow and not replace it too much of icy storm season. 😮 I’ll start to research this option. As a recall this is eastern hub for AA which should make easy in and out for travel. 👍🏾

Hard summers, easy winters here. The 92 degrees today wouldn't be so bad if the humidity wasn't 72%. I work outside and it feels like stepping into an armpit, all the time. However there isn't much snow, although I did take my profile pic here a couple of years ago. It took Bessemer City 3 days to completely clear the roads of 6 inches of snow. But that was 2 years ago and it hasn't really snowed since.
