"River Flows in You" Ballet Dance - Anthea Bundy

A ballet dance I choreographed for my friends dance display. I'm not really a ballet dancer.. more a highland dancer! This is just me marking through the dance at the dress rehearsal. I know it's not that good but it's the only video I have of this dance.

Excellent!
I'm a much more inexperienced Highland dancer (I've only been dancing for 4 years) and I am just blown away by this! I just started learning how to leap last week, and it is HARD! The amount of training and work you must have put in to achieve this routine is huge, you have definitely inspired me to practice more!
Absolute perfection. Very beautiful.
Здорово. Браво.
Браво! Такая четкость, легкость.👍👍👍

Потрясающе! Как же это завораживает! Браво!
Beautiful choreography and dancing
Beautiful dancing! Would have loved to see the ladies in the traditional dress too.
You have a very nice voice
Brilliant
You have a beautiful voice. Big like :)
Great voice.
Whats the song called?
I'm in my second year of highland dance. I wish I could leap like that
There are 4 girls at my dance school that can leap as high as that
So handsome! 😍
nice
Bravo! You are really fantastic dancers! Many greetings from Hungary Budapest:)
their singing is great
HI Anthea- I have a question. I'm just a new admirer of Scottish Highland Dancing, and was curious to know why do the male dancers do the same exact steps with the same arm positions as the females? why wouldn't they have more subdued or masculine type of steps that look would more manly and let the females do the more flamboyant moves?. is it just "tradition" that the men do this? also, and can you tell me the proper name of the dance about the angry houswife? I saw it one time and liked it but I can't find it again because I don't know the name. Thanks!
Hello David! This is actually a choreography, so it is not the traditional dances, the dancers/ dance teachers make these based on what they decide so in this case they are all doing the same steps and using the same arm positions. In the traditional "Highland dances" for example the Fling or Sword, the steps were actually made by and for men, many dances being used in war, it took quite a while for women to be able to dance them wearing a kilt, so men and women use the same steps and arms. Women traditionally danced the "National Dances" like the Blue Bonnets or Lilt, which are more graceful and "flamboyant", wearing a different outfit. Now a days men also do the national dances but wear a kilt and do similar arm positions to the highlands, for it to be more masculine. Also the dance you are talking about it about an angry Irish washer woman, it is called the Irish Jig. Hope this helps!
+Cassie Weiss thank you Cassie for taking the time to reply back and explain. I love this dance... I love when the pipes kick in. What's so awesome is that you have a real pipe player at your events. Makes it genuine.
OMG people relax they're my besties from school and I can honestly say they made it up the day before for a laugh 😂😂
Leaps❤️❤️❤️
you are all absolutely amazing- such beautiful dancers. I really regret not sticking in at dancing and practicing more- 28 and too old now 😢😢 used to compete with David quite a lot and a few times also at Cowal ☺ congratulations to you on on a truly remarkable achievement - just shows you what a lot of time, effort and hard work can do. all three of you are an inspiration to any dancer.
Their synchronisation is a little off too
Their performance was a little weak, no bad but it lacks power in their words and moves
It needs more moves and excitement that was dry
those highcuts and leaps tho.... <3
That was absolutely incredible! Thank you for sharing!
There all amazing but honestly the boy is the best
David Wilton is also the pipe major of a senior grade one pipe band. That’s talent and dedication
I was just wondering, if this is at Knightswood, is it likely for me to start 5th year if i have never been to knightwood before, and also is this a musical theatre course or the dance one?
Saw the original in Victoria. Heather is a genius!
SO much TALENT!! I'm really hoping to pick it back up in college. I quit to do volley ball, but I kept practicing the dances to keep me fresh. You three are amazing!!! :D <3
Well, did you pick it up again? If not there's no time like the present.
Nice movements but I think your pointe shoes are dying
My three inspirations ❤️
needs more spinns
*turns.
There's a lot of ballet in this! I've noticed Scottish and Irish dancers introducing more and more ballet steps.
I do dancing
tbf highland is older than ballet...
No not in Irish dancing, we sometimes do ballet steps in shows or something like that, but not at competitions or practice.
This is great. I would also enjoy a new style. Maybe more with lights and those shadows incorporated more. I imagine them in all white. And traditional colored lights apon them.
What is the music you are dancing to?:)
Naomi Paterson gum gum style
OMG this is amaziiing
this is amazing!
You're welcome. I wish. I can see more dances with kilts. It shows interest and great pride to wear a kilt.
I've just started scottish dancing. You have really inspiered me
this is amazing xxxx
