    Can you comment on the image quality difference between the URSA Cine 12K LF and the original URSA Mini Pro 12K? To me, it seems the original Super35 12K is better value given the price difference and given it has the same RGBW sensor design concept, that is if you don't mind a loss of 1.5 to 2 stops of DR and if you don't mind not having open gate and 1 stop better in lowight (I am assuming the LF has 1 stop better in ISO performance, but you could clarify better than me) and if you don't need the more reliable media.

    Hi Vance! Could you please share a bit about whether this camera would be good for run-and-gun projects? Was it difficult to set the focus correctly when the girl was moving? Do you remember how wide the aperture was? I’m trying to decide on a camera for my documentary project and am choosing between Canon c70 with autofocus and the Blackmagic with manual focus…

      Hey so this is an h265 with RUclips compression. The pro res master looks a lot better. That being said for me it’s about over sampling and have a great image not about sharpness. I’m not a fan of overly sharp. But that’s just my preference. If you want sharp this camera will certainly deliver. The hi res of the on a HDR monitor is beautiful

    • @SHDEdits
      @SHDEdits 2 месяца назад

      It’s not a Bayer sensor, a larger array of photosites are used to derive color per pixel, so the ballpark resolving power per pixel density is not on the same scale here. I would assume the actual resolving power is closer to 4k. But the benefit of this sensor is channel uniformity, which is likely also the case for resolution. Alexa for example has very poor resolving power for the blue channel, and about the same for the green and red.

      Verry simple, insert whatever media card you used in camera into a card specific to type of card. Normally I would connect and external drive top my computer due to size of files, then connect media card via card reader. select all files and drag and drop onto external drive or into folder you have created on you computer. Now you can bring into DaVinci resolve for edit and color. If this is professional use then it's a good idea to transfer files via a program called Shotput. This will check the integrity of files as you are bringing them in..

    Not to be so harsh but used the 12k camera with anamorphic lenses, filters and post processing which basically softened the image overall. • @vanceburberry710
      @vanceburberry710 2 месяца назад

      Yeah, this is not the place to see its full potential, but it's not about the pixels for me as much as the quality of image. This has been color graded no softening. The images compare in my opinion to the top 4k-8k cameras at a fraction of the cost.

    • @oscarstegland
      @oscarstegland 2 месяца назад

      You're never going to see the "12k potential". Outside of reframing, 8k is far beyond what anyone can see in terms of quality improvement. Most people don't sit close enough to displays to see the full benefit of 4k. Even if there were 12k displays, your eyes are the weakest link in that equation.

    • @oscarstegland
      @oscarstegland 2 месяца назад

      @@DragoTJ Why they go for that resolution, I have no idea... Imax don't project at higher than dual 4k which gives something similar to 6k. But why they go for that sensor size is something else entirely. 65mm is an almost-mythical format that only a reserve few have gotten to use. If Arri opened that format up for a lot more people, BMD are trying to democratize it. The thing they gave going for them is the fact that you can shoot at lower resolutions without cropping the sensor. So the max resolution doesn't really matter too much. If you were forced to shoot at 12k or 17k, it would make both of these cameras a lot less useful.
