The overbearing and insensitive orchestra in the first movement covered up Yunchan Lims melody line. Second movement is much better nuanced. Maybe it’s the recording? Where was this taped? Audience clearly not used to withholding applause until the end.
Yes. The applause between movements is a bit annoying, but it happens often in Rach2😂 This was performed on September 28th and was broadcast on radio WETA on October 2nd.
Fast ! ( the 2nd movement worked so well with the long phrases )
Original running time is around 31-32 minutes
