@@siddheshpillai3807 I didn't really put much emphasis on the story in Initial D. No one really gave two shits abt takumi's love interests, and it was executed poorly. I think drift tech, races, competition, car tech, is all we watch this series for. And this sequel is terribly lacking in that department.

not going too in manga takumi is a retired / disabled pro rally driver. Its implied in manga he had bad wreck ended up in wheel chair and became racing coach that the main character from MF Ghost went too and was taught by him. in Anime its shown hes retired pro rally driver who taught the MC in a flash back. so red GT86 driver is Takumi's student

Words can not describe how i feel. Understand that initial-d is my most favorite anime of ALL time. I watched it 14 times. I finished the 1st season again this weekend. I have very, very deep emotional connection to initial-d. Seeing this made me tear up... this is just too powerful.
