I didnt play the game, but are there special inputs for the executions? So i see that they hit with swing swing and execution animation. When does the game essentially knows when to execute and when to continue swinging? Is it always a killing move on the third swing or is there a pop up for execution or something?

Naughty dog just has it ALL when it comes to melee combat, it's like they were literally done for and solely to develop the greatest combat i've ever seen, another great example for this is Uncharted's 4 melee, fucking love that

Late comment: But i always come back to this video just to admite the sheer perfection of detail put into combat. The wild fury and grief in Ellie's fighting vs the direct and calm aggression in Abby's brawling is always a beautiful watch.

This has some of the best gameplay of any 3rd person game period. It’s a CRYING SHAME that this incredible engine and attention to detail is seemingly reserved for this experience and this experience alone. I haven’t played the part one release on ps5 but I hear it not quite like this one. Either way, I wish this game had at least one other mode. Something more..

After a few play throughs it gets even more fun. Skipping cinematics and just tearing through people. Especially with no hud. Took me awhile to get accurate with no reticle but now it feels like such a clean game overall. I hope they make a part 3
