Rebel Transport Shell Castings!
Here's what you are getting if you decide to get the shell castings from Mike Salzo! I will have some more videos here about the Transport in the coming months, like a new run of machined engine bells this fall... I am also going to go VERY in depth on part IDs (and reference and building) on a new Patreon, if you are interested in following along with what I am doing with my personal build. There will be a lot more available too as I am making it an organized place for my Tamiya paint mixes, files you can get as a supporter or purchase outright, and other projects. No worries if not! Have fun building, no matter what you decide! patreon.com/JasonEatonStudio

Did you ever wonder how prop collecting and model building and the entire scene in general got to where it is now? So we continue this series with Halliwax, a lightsaber expert, gentleman, and dyed in t...

Not sure how I missed this video. This is beyond awesome. Will these be available for purchase for those of us who dont have access to a printer, or just pdf files.
Dude this looks absolutely amazing. It is astonishing how much better these things look with the real cool shade compared to just molded plastic. What were the original wing stars kit bashed from. How were they made.
Those are going to look so cool.
What a great channel. Just subscribed. Thanks for sharing 😊
Are you selling the STL files so we can try and print this at home?
I felt like I was... *Transported* to the ILM model shop.
Question what size scale will it be ??? Keep up the Good work !!! And MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU Brother !!! 😊😊😊
Thanks for the walkthrough. That a very good reason for Patreon.
stunning
Behold, Jason suffers for us... 🤣
Cool! I've missed your vids!
Thanks, I will be making them more frequently!
I really like those big trouble in little china posters
Would love to see a video that goes more in depth in the painting and weathering
Looks amazing!!!! I have a studio scale tie fighter model and real Koolshade! Can you please! Please! PLEASE! Do a video on how you construct the h-beam "equator" as you call it.. with what material you use.. and how? Please!!!?!
Super cool!
Fantastic info and tutorial, thanks for doing this 👍🏻
I liked the hunt for the cooling fins on the WWii bombers twin rear guns. They were part of the Obi Wan lightsaber. I followed that hunt for ages. So many ideas about what it could be. To think I walked past those exact guns every weekend at the local air museum and never noticed.
Hey Jason. First off. New to all of this fantastic scale model building. I've been a star wars fan for life, and a model building fan for just about as long. I want to build a full scale studio X-Wing, and many others. Rather than start with the big one. I found out that ILM used some MPC kits for ESB, and figured I would cut my teeth so to speak on a couple of these. Trying my best to recreate those filming miniatures first. I bought a kit with the brass tubes and everything like you have here. The problem is I'm not sure what their length should actually be. How far into the Lazer housing the first tube should go. I thought maybe I could just use the measurements from the model kit guns, but not sure if ILM modified the length on them or not. Any info you could possibly give would be greatly appreciated. I've checked the threads on RPF, and can't find anything on it there. Most of the threads related to the mpc kits, or fairly old, and I'm not getting much of a response due to their age I'm sure. Again any info on the lasers, or anything else related to the way ILM built these kits would be greatly appreciated. I really want to get these as right as I can. I'm sorta like you in the aspect of saving this information. I feel it should be kept for future fans of the hobby so it doesn't get lost too time. Like so much has been already. I'm a huge fan of your work, and also sort of a fellow Baltimoreian lol. I've watched just about every video you've put out on your channel thus far, and am looking forward to any and all in the future. Thanks again. Sorry for the lengthy message.
Whooo! That cockpit. Hnnnnggg.
This is wonderful! I don't know why I'm seeing this now after a year later (2/25/2024) but I'm glad that I did. I've built my own version of the 1/48th scale X-wing but I retooled the entire fuselage including the shape, panel lines and all the greeblies along the fuselage on its surface. I made all new wings, laser canons, hyperdrive actuator and control module. I made my own nosecones and R2 unit and pilot. Think of this as being a smaller version of the ILM models from back in the day. I made separate control covers for the mounting points. All the things that were separate on the ILM kits are separate on my version. I would love to do an actual studio scale version some day. Thank you for sharing this with us. It is very enlightening to see that there is a preservation of the lineage of the ILM fuselages if nothing else.
1:09:43 is gold from Matt, I laugh so hard!!!😂
I really really like your RPF history parts, still at part 2, looking forward to listen to the other ones. I'm a RPF member since 2005, been a lurker for quite a wile (only 27 comments in there lol), then I showed my scratch build and got some bad tone emails about ''well! Here's your 15 minutes of fame comments''' and other crapy stuff, so I was ''I don't need that kind of crap!'' and lost interest on posting other stuff afterword. But I surely go back from time to time to see what others do, still love very much the site. ☺
Just....WOW!!!
Awesome paintings of Big Trouble in little China love that movie
Excellent insight. Thank you!
Awesome sauce 👌
Thanks for shairing Jason. I truly appreciated it .
Nice work, really love the Star Wars universe and love these studio scale build videos..
What’s the point of having the metal shaft go through the entire dragster body of the x-wing forward of the wings? It seems to me that it’s unnecessary considering it’s a static display model and therefore the extra length of the metal offers unnecessary strength. To mitigate sag music wire on the sides could be used allowing for a fully detailed cockpit..
Nice , thanks for that .it looks so correct instantly
Great info 👍
Love it. And all your vids. Always checking to see if there's something new. Cheers mate!
Ugh, I just paid $900 USD for enough vintage stuff to do a 5' Falcon. Yikes indeed. Thanks for the video, I think i need to cut my own vents and was wondering how to go about it.
That sounds nerve-racking. You have my compliments.
Looks amazing and I've always wondered what coolshade actually was after hearing about it all these years. Thanks for sharing
c Congrats!!!!
Dude - How did you make that rock - its so cool..... Sorry I had to after the FB rants Seriously though thanks for this... I doubt I'll ever get my grubby hands on some real Koolshade but it was very cool to see!
4:50 is that tamiya XF-82? :)
Great to follow along up to part five. Congrats on the build and the fellow builders who worked tirelessly to get the designs and details correct.
Looks like the winding for an electric motor.
Great work looks amazing !
Nice work. The 4 laser cannons look rad! What is that parts holder at @5:16 ? Looks very handy.
Awesome build Jason!, quetion for you, do you have a source for the cockpit decals?
So do you plan to release the 3D scans of the ILM Model (Which everyone should have access to) or are you going to keep it to yourself and your "Inner circle"?
Lol Wasn´t expecting hearing Björk singing in Icelandic there, loved the video.
What Brand of paint and Brushes Did you paint the Pilot and Cockpit
Thanks for sharing your trip, Jason! So cool you got chat with Norm! That Blockade Runner is amazing! Is there a build thread for it?
Another amazing year! Wish we had more time to hang but maybe next year. :)
Great to see you back on RUclips Jason.
Great video! Thanks for sharing it.
