We tried to connect to the VSM from our app but seems it declines connections. Is there something we should do first?
It should stay free of charge. That’s the only thing we’re looking at and also ensure that your engineers bear identification uniforms or cards.
Which meters are affected based on date of manufacture? For example are those meters manufactured in 2023 affected?
This is not about year of manufacturer. But need to know what exactly Meter has produced. If producing with STS Edition1 (KRN1) its with 1993 Base Date will affected.

i know a company which is one of your members want to pay vending system source code contain the sts algorithm code
Please correct the description. It is a closed standard for members only. If open, the specifications would be freely downloadable without a login. Also, parts of the spec are only available to meter manufacturers (the non standard DES tables). Reminds me partly of what happened to closed system 'Keeloq'.
It really cleared a lot of things for me. I work in a electric meter manufacturing company and we are thinking about being a member of the STSA, but we have some uncleared questions like how we could get a security module? Do we have to buy the HSM? Can't we just develop our own security module, of course if you give us the algorithms??
