Dodgers & Red Sox series preview with Rob Bradford, Teoscar Hernández contract, Kenley Jansen rumors
Hmmm…Dodger’s pitching for the upcoming Philly series: combining all 3 starters together, in their last starts they totaled 15 innings and gave up 15 runs…hardly an advantage…
So let's combine Phillies starters for this series, their last start. 13 innings, 16 runs...
I'm not as excited for Sasaki as I was. Read my my article on Dodgers Beat and you will see why
Impressive pitching in the first outing as a Dodgers! Welcome home, Jack!
Putting a position player in the ninth to pitch is just a loser mentality. It doesn’t matter what the score is. Just another thing I despise about this Manager. And trust me, it’s a long list.
you have no idea what you are talking about… they didn’t want to use another pitcher….. the Athletics didn’t score so it worked out great.
There’s no CRYING IN BASEBALL
Way to go Jack
Jesus H - Somebody tell Kirsten to stop misusing the word "JUST"!!!
Dave is aging fast
He was JUST what the Dodgers needed at this point in the season! Only had to give up a couple 'insignificant' blocked prospects to get him because other teams backed off due to recent medical concerns. Flaherty showed yesterday in his Dodger debut that he'll be there come playoff time ready to roll and deal with whatever's been ailing him this upcoming winter for good! Welcome home, big guy. Glad 'Taxman' Dave Roberts knew better than to pull YOU out of that 6th inning jam you found yourself in (lol)... 😁👏
Well, if they got us Flaherty maybe they weren't so "insignificant"
@@edomarpez1840 I meant 'insignificant' TO THE DODGERS (lol). Liranzo is a top C prospect, but with Cartaya and my personal fave Rushing ahead of him where the heck was he gonna factor into the team's long-term plans anyway??? Same goes for Trey Sweeney, who was NEVER gonna get his shot because apparently Dodgers prefer defensive stability over offensive potential at the SS position right now (plus there's still the likelihood of Betts staying at that spot upon his return from the IL). That's why I liked how this deal turned out in the end and that's all I'm gonna say about it, too.
@@PeekaPeep yeah, I get what you meant. Tbh I was almost sure they're going to trade Cartaya...
Have this conversation in September.
I loved how he anted up with the bases loaded and no outs.
From Detroit, You’re welcome LA. 😎
He’s from cali …Burbank ca 818
@@ozzieiniguez1645 Aaaannd, where was he playing??
Yes, thank you! We would be happy to give you Roberts, if you are interested.
Doc Roberts is my guy.
👎 dislike this manager since 2020.
Extend him for 10 more seasons 🎉
He pitched phenomenal!!
Why can’t we never hear the broadcaster ask questions
because their mic is only connected to their tv cameras
@@BleedLosPodcastthen add an ambient Mike ! Other sites can pick up the questions better.
they need a change in the dugout. Roberts time is tic tic ticking.
Gomes GM IN NAME ONLY, unfortunately 😮💨😒. Everyone knows Friedman is the president, GM, AND team manager of this baseball club! Shouldn't be that way, but it is what it is...
agree with everything said...and yet...Dodgers can never truly be all-in in a given season because they need to be competitive for the WS annual basis. That's part of the Dodgers brand, team building philosophy, and probably what they sold Ohtani. Only way to sustain that is to keep graduating prospects. How much worse would our starting pitching be without our prospect pitchers? Miller/Sheehan/Pepiot literally saved our season last year and probably no playoffs without them. Stone, Knack, Wrobo, Ryan all making meaningful contributions this year and we're scraping the trash heap filling out a rotation if we'd jettisoned them off the years before. Is it the best strategy? Should we handicap future seasons to increase our shot one year? Doesn't matter, Dodgers have already decided. Padres are fascinating. They sure look good right now. I expect they'll catch us and maybe even win the division. They also might be peaking too early. They've definitely had some good fortune. Losing Darvish was a hit, but otherwise they've been pretty healthy in comparison to the Dodgers. Cease's elbow was a ticking time clock before being traded and now he's having a Cy Young year. They capitalized on Merrill falling in the draft and had the good sense not to trade him away. They're getting a miraculous year from Profar so far. Padres draft, sign, and acquire the same high risk pitchers the Dodgers do. They've haven't been overly stung yet. We'll see what happens.
I agree totally, Juan...like baby face says, "I don't care how you do it". Tuff times. La Pura neta carnales!!
Feel good about our additions, work them in and wait for our injuried guys to return, we can make a strong run, looking forward to seeing them bond together.
I question the Dodgers developing players, after spending a billion dollars in the off season they have to trade for 5 players. The pitchers are getting hurt with major arm injuries, the Dodger pitching coaches need to re-evaluate their philosophy and throwing program. They don’t seem to teach the fundamentals in the minors as prospects can’t bunt, hit and run, and swing at pitches way outside the strike zone, and poor base running.
Was about to say something similar on this page, but you already beat me to it 💯👍! REALLY concerned about the acute lack of fundamentals down on the farm over the past several years and it's now rearing its ugly head on the parent club. And I definitely would like to see a real change in how the Dodgers develop and handle their pitching. Much as I hate Trevor Bauer (mostly for character-related reasons, lol), his way of training is still the most proven and time-tested. Mike Marshall's another one and I'm surprised his methods haven't become the holy grail for every team in pro baseball as of today.
Why am I commenting, as of July 30, 2024, on this Comment section of a 6+ month old podcast? it’s because I can’t find anywhere else that discusses Dodger current events with a comment section for Dodger and/or MLB fans to express their opinions! That’s why! I feel compelled to criticize whoever in the Dodger’ organization who have gathered such a lousy bullpen staff( of last innings closers, generally). But, it has become glaringly apparent, as of last half of the 2023season, & again, starting with the 2nd half of this season( after the All Star game), that said poor quality performances by mediocre quality Dodgers closers, have lost important games that the team should have won.If this wet a relatively few instances, I wouldn’t be complaining. But, I have been a Dodger fan for years, & have not only overpaid for my cable tv subscription, but endured an overload of insipid car & fast food commercials! I believe I have earned the right to give constructive criticism to the coaching decisions which have coddled the pitchers by leaving them in the game too long. Get rid of the deadweight & tighten up on getting professionals who don’t choke. All players & staff & ownership personnel are overpaid, by the standards of our sick society. So, get some quality closers to aid the rest of the team to win!
Ugh he’s married? Poor wifey
Looks like a humble guy
Kershaw messed the dodgers bullpen up. Dave should have had knack ready for him after knowing he was only going to go 4 innings. Dave used the bullpen like an elimination game in the playoffs just to have a feel good day with Kersh
Dave Roberts is not who we need in October.
DODGERS DODGERS 🤘
May god bless you and your family and keep you in his tender care and love and bring you peace and love may God bless you and your family 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Can he pitch?
After watching Saturday’s 7-6 loss against Houston, & having watched many games, beginning from the start of ‘23 season, I’d say that the pitching coaches for the Dodgers, & ultimately, Robert’s, should be held responsible for quite a few losses that the Dodgers should have won. I’m talking about leaving bad pitchers, like Hudson, in too long! Too many times, it has become apparent that a Dodger’s pitcher is not up to the task. Robert’s typically leaves a guy who is either choking, or having an off-day, in the game .If this was a one or two or 3-off, I’d keep quiet. These pitchers get paid to close in tough situations. The Dodgers’ closers have not only been poor to mediocre, but with the Dodgers’ deep pockets to hold a high std, of pitching, the scouts and/or coaches are doing the team no favors.
What if, he's ready to go for the playoffs?
Assuming this video is recent, the other good news is Mookie Betts is on the field with no protective equipment on.
So much for the Arozarena trade.
man, remember when he was literally leading the league in homeruns and strikeouts at the same time last year? XD
Chef: How do you like your eggs, Gavin? Lux: aggressive
Don't push too hard Shohei
Spanglish
How about one of those starters from Seattle Mariners? They just got swept by the Angels at home mainly because that team can't hit. They got overtaken by the Astros and probably will fade, especially now with JP Crawford and Julio going down. Why not Luis Castillo or some other starter plus Munoz their closer? We can trade Bobby Miller or Knack, Miguel Vargas who has a career batting average of .300 and some other guys in the minors?
Mariners are not selling as they just traded for Randy Arozarena and two of our hot take picks just went down in flames.
Ohtani is going for 1st MLBDHMVP, triple crown, 50-40, 400+TB, 30-30-30(30+HR, .300hit avg, 30+steals), 10+wars, 1.100+OPS etc as a rehab pitcher 😂!
👋
Knack and stone should be untouchable
Dodgers got themselves a bargain with this guy. Even rehabbing his injury, he is still producing with his bat and legs. He might easily get 40 HRs and 40 SBs by the end of the season. It'll be crazy if it's 50/50 or 40/50.
Ohtani is going for triple crown, 50-40, 400+TB, 30-30-30(30+HR, .300hit avg, 30+steals), 10+wars, 1.100+OPS etc as a rehab pitcher 😂!
Yep, 70m per year for a DH is the bargain of the century. Good luck.
It is for the best player in the league. Also means he can still hit when he is injured as a pitcher and be the best hitter in the league.
@Nyhiak you're thinking purely in competitive terms, but in reality Shohei brings in so much additional revenue that it actually is quite a good deal. It'll be interesting to see statistics after this season is over, but it's almost hard to quantify the impact he has on viewership, sales, and general interest. I live in Korea, and even people who know nothing about baseball know who he is - he's a global phenomenon.
50HR, .300+BA, 15wins, <3.00ERA. Very possible.
+stolen base→50
This is the best coaching job I’ve seen Roberts do with the Dodgers
Knack has this cool and calming, laid back demeanor😊
I love this guy!
I think he means he's trying to be more aggressive. 😆
Yeah I can't count how many times he said "aggressive" in this interview 😂😂
Honeywell pitching looking awesome with his Screwball!
It does look like he is up to 90% effort. Where is he on the radar gun?
Last reports/notes I saw he is at 80mph now
Nah that looks more like 60-70 effort
@@exia0616It was 87mph
87mph at last record.
@berryleung7288 That's much better than 80 (87 is only 9-10 mph away from where he normally sits). Is there a way to look this up?
Don't rush. Give the body time to heal.
Dodgers should extend Dave for 10 years 😌
