Channel of me fiddling with bikes. Mostly 2 squeak engined bikes.
Aprilia AF1 125 Sintesi engine strip down
This is my AF1 Sintesi engine strip down. The big end went on it last summer, and I took the engine out the same day. Finally got around to stripping it down.
This is a very early Rotax 123 engine, and there are differences to the later 123 engine used in the RS125.
The big end bearing has failed very badly, and the mains are not too good either. It had also damaged the bore and piston (possibly from a piece of the big end bearing cage).
The crank will be sent off to be rebuilt, then I can reassemble the engine. I do have a spare barrel (which will need a piston), but this engines barrel can be replated at some point.

FZR600 Strip down and rebuild

I know this isn't a 2 squeak! This FZR600 was my cheap commuter bike for years. A few years back I gave it to a friend on the basis they could have it for free if it was rebuilt - on the basis that if I had sold it I would only have got a few hundred pounds max and someone would have just broken it for spares. Speeded up video of the strip down of my YSR50 Gag Bike. I have had this about 14 years, and the frame was showing corrosion in places. So sent away for powder coating.

how did the VIN number come out of the powder coating? i want to rebuild my bike as well but im afraid the VIN nuber will be unreadable.
Not that readable, but can be made out. Possibly worth having a word with your powder coaters to make sure that it is readable. Good luck

Thank you. You have done a good job on your bikes. Your FZ rebuild encouraged me to dig mine out. I have just finished pulling my fz750 chassis to pieces. Tyres off the wheels then time for blasting clean. Stripped the brakes over new years, and currently the calipers and master cylinders are soaking in Acetone. I will Cerakote them soon. Unfortunately seems every brake piston has slight pitting.

That is also how I started some years ago after not have touched a motorcycle for more than ten years. Good luck with your FZ, I'll keep an eye on your channel. About the state of the parts, for these old bikes restoring to a brand new state is nearly impossible or way too expensive. I also work on a tight budget so not always possible to replace some parts I would like to replace.
@@jh-tech5546 I have rebuilt a few over time. I started on an ns125f quite a few years ago, but things were going wrong so hid it in a corner. When Covid lockdown happened I finished it. Then some work on my early Aprilia RS125. Then did the ysr50 (forks needed rechroming, but frame was a bit tatty so did that also). Then the fzr600. Was undecided what to do next. In summer there was a classic bike weekend at Mallory Park race track, and the FZ group there pushed the FZ up the list, and your videos further encouraged me. Mine is a 1FN and the chain slider is at the end of its life. I have 3D printed a copy and will try and cast one in polyurethane.
Cool project bike to start with.
They are not bad. Build quality not the best!

It is OK.Bodywork is still tatty, and it probably needs a good run to clear itself out. But useable and should be good to survive now.
Watched to the end to see if you could get the whole bike in the cardboard box. Slightly disappointed......
Takes up a lot more space in bits than it does in one piece!
