The only solution that I can thing of is wall sound insulation and good microphone. For both you will have to talk to professional. For wall insulation, depends on type of wall you have, exact purpose of insulation and of course, how much you are planning to pay for it. Microphone can vary in price and quality a lot. Be sure that you know exactly what you are buying.

It's ok. In some countries and with some carriers, those codes are not working.

The key with platform io is to select proper board that you are using. There you will have all of settings you may need. But sometimes that's not an easy task. Then you can go with commands like board_upload.flash_size=8MB or board_upload.maximum_size=8388608 or board_build.partitions = default_8MB.csv From my experience, platform io is a great tool, but far from perfect. There is a way to write custom settings for a board by the way.

Either your microcontroller is broken or your monitor speed doesn't match. Try set it in platform.ini by adding command monitor_speed = 9600 or some other baud rate, that you are using.

Damn, I din't expect that. Miss-matched speed is usual problem. I guess that it's about microcontroller than, but before you throw it to the garbage, try one more thing. If your device is not burned or it has some other hardware defect, flashing may help it. Try using 'esptool.py --chip esp8266 --port /dev/ttyUSB0 erase_flash' with appropriate settings. This will erase mess if there is some on your device. Than you may try uploading your sketch once again. Just don't forget to change port and chip type. Of course, I am presuming that you know what you are doing. It is my pleasure to help. Although I am mostly preoccupated, today is not the case 😎
