I agree with everything you said, but vs other iems/drivers the SPD is just a little sluggish. Bass is good but a little on the loose side and mid-bass is just a touch boomy but it is a good iem, just not a high definition driver. They're really squeezing it for all it's got.

@hi-friaudioman Ya I totally agree that it's slow, and lacks definition. It's why I don't listen to it more. I don't see why they bother making them this way, but I must have examples of every driver type.. It's a bouncy set, it has its uses. I like it. But why bother making it?

Hi, I own both THE DUDU and Rhapsody. Honestly, rather than these 2 sets, I'd suggest you just get the ZS12 Pro X.

Hey, so it depends on what you're trying to fix with the treble. I looked at some graphs and can see it is a little uneven with a relatively large dip in the lower treble. Unfortunately it appears to be an issue with the shape/depth of the shell and cavity. You could try to add a piece of small round foam in the nozzle or a higher value dampener which will dampen higher frequencies, you will lose some air and sparkle but it will cut down on the effect of the dip, otherwise without changing shells I'm not sure there is much you can do. If you were to change the dampener on the rear it would change the pinna vs bass response and possibly mess everything up. Personally i would just use DSP/EQ to correct the response. The CCA rhapsody I'm not sure about, you'd probably get more enjoyment from the planar but that also depends on how well its tuned.

What? kz drivers on pilgrim that would be really interesting if it is real. I think kz saga and EDC pro drivers are different. You can see in their advertisement exploded diagram.

@@NKFreak1C My bad I meant to say ZSN Pro 2. KZ Markets these drivers as the Super Linear dynamic driver. Apparently its a close relative to the Letshuoer Galileo DD so its not entirely impossible for Elysian to also use the driver. From what I can tell not only does the saga, zsn pro 2 and pilgrim have drivers that look nearly identical but they also have similar driver materials (LSR + AL-MG)

Sorry I am not familiar with those drivers. I very highly doubt they are using KZ drivers. The only metalized driver ive seen from KZ appeared to be some kind of Ti coating but it could've been Mg-Al. I know there are a ton of Mg-Al variants out there and Moondrop has been using them in a few of their iems, if anything the elysian iems are probably closer to those.

Interesting. Yeah, it will probably be a while but eventually i would like to get through all of the KZ DD iems. I forgot they released two versions of that iem. Lol. So strange.

@hi-friaudioman Now they released a Pro version of that too, also in that two variations. I wonder if silver version got the same treatment.

You do know that, if it's the case, it's a QC issue, and not deliberate? All sorts of insane theories online, that they spend the money on the drivers, spend the money on installing them, then deliberately disable them. No. This makes less then zero sense, no one does that.

@wahid-lg1kk QC issue is when small portion is affected but if all are affected it's already a design. And it does make sense because drivers are cheap and it's the tuning that you are paying for. In case of KZ it's their marketing: they put in a lot of drivers, so people see that, see the price and buy blindly online, nonethewiser that only one driver makes the sound and the rest are just for quantity. They saved money on design and development. And it's a very Chinese thing to do, all these 999in1, 2mp phone camera but it has 4 of them and so on. Quantity over quality.

@unruler there was one model affected it was due to the glue not being suitable. It wasn't all of them. Drivers are not cheap when you are making tens of thousands. There are much better marketing strategies then putting deliberately non operating drivers in. The drivers were there. They were installed. They were real drivers. They were hooked up. They were impacted by glue. Go buy one now. Other people have huge qc issues, like moondrop, and nobody suggests this nonsense. It's the Western penchant for choosing someone to crap on, and everyone getting in line to do it. You are trained to it from school days. Continually bringing this up years later is insane.

I did not polish them, they were spin coated or whatever you call it. If you apply the lacquer and rotate them while curing it creates a mirror finish.
