Back Creek Homestead
Добавлен 5 сен 2009
Hello! Welcome to Back Creek Homestead. We live at the base of the Blue Ridge mountains. While this channel was started to display knife making ; it will also have content from our daily lives. We have a small homestead were we enjoy raising our own vegetables, hogs, and chickens. We currently pay our bills by delivering organic chicken feed to farms in VA. Trucking has been a large part of our life. Hope you enjoy :)

10:02 Isn’t that the pick that McDonough Toyota left under the hood in my truck?
I think so. Some vehicles come with free tools
That’s pretty cool 🎉. Welcome little chick
They are on their way brother
I love what you are doing, I just cut a big hickory for trailer boards, 16ft long 10" wide 6/4 think, they are beasts to handle one board at a time even, the full log was absolutely everything my 55 hp Case loader would pick up, so well over a ton for one log.
Thanks for watching! I was surprised how heavy the boards were. Mite need to upgrade my tractor or find a way to get more leverage on the logs.... They shud last a long time :)
I'm glad to see someone else using early tractors with their sawmill. You might want to try parbuckling the logs onto the mill. I have a video on my channel showing it. If it helps, I would appreciate the credit
Thanks I'll look into it
How much side pressure does that put on the trailer? My mill is not very solid sideways
@@backcreekhomestead I honestly couldn't say. Your mill looks low enough to the ground that I don't know if that would be an issue. I'd reach out to others with your make of mill and inquire with them. All I know is I'm 66 yrs old and I don't manhandle logs anymore if I can help it.
Great Video! Ya'll definitely had a lot of flooding back there. Stay safe!
Thanks, we did! Luckily no major damage this time, hopefully it stays that way
Old spocket 8 tooth new spocket 7 tooth
It helps with the torque
Looking good
Thanks 👍
Thanks for the suggestions! Hopefully we can do a video update soon. She has been having a rough time but hopefully she will pull through.
Halo or donut😊
Name her Babycake👍
My little grandson says spider man.😅
Daisy! Not cute for a calf, but great for a cow!
Cheese Burger!
Donut! First thing I thought when I saw her round white patch with a dot of color for the hole in the center
Name her Precious 🤔😁
Halo
Hope or Star.

Perhaps Audrie (Awe-dree) New subscriber here ✌️ Good on y'all ❤️
Thanks for subscribing! We really appreciate it!
So cute! Maybe Aura, because she seems to have one in her head!❤
King. It looks like a crown on his head. Awww❤😊
Name her Clementine 😊
Total idiot. I can't believe how stupid people are in this age.
You didn’t show how yo actually remove the sprocket 🤦🏻♂️👎
Remove the c clip and it pulls straight out
You need aguide your eyeballs are skiwed.
All I can say is it seems to cut great. Cuts nice an straight. Do you think it would cut faster with a different angle?
Your angles are way off by about 20°
Thanks for watching! I am not a professional but from my experience when you hand sharpen you can tailor each tooth to exactly what it needs.
@@backcreekhomestead Enjoyed watching and I have made my chains last for years hand sharpening. Camera close up of how the file is taking off metal is outstanding and helps me see exactly what I should be doing. I have listened to a chainsaw person and what size file to use. The main thing is getting the file above the horizontal tooth edge. What size file he said is unimportant. Hope that makes some sense.
I got 68,000 on my 06 F150 yeah I'm bragging about the least miles instead of the most
Audio is good! What mic are you using? My dad has a 290 and my grandad did too before we accidentally ran it over with our massey ferguson lol. I just got our old MS250C up and running to cut up stuff around our house.
It's a Hollyland wireless not sure what number. Thanks for the comment!
All on a flat tire
🤣
😂😂😂
Good ole Toyota, congrats
Thanks 👍
My prius hit 340000 original hybrid battery.
Im about to hit 400,000 miles on my 07 yaris
I hope to do that in my Yaris one day
Hmmm almost time for the break in oil change. Love a Toyota
Barely broken in! ❤ It’s a Toyota It’s a real car
And we have low tire pressure now. What did it take to get it to that point?
Real car that can't tow shit
@@cannenrockwell1893 not everyone is a hillbilly like you! 😂
Omg what a surprise
hell ueah
Go get your air checked or replace the tpms sensors😂
Been doin my own maintenance for quite a while. The air pressure is were it is supposed to be :) I don't need a light in the dash to say if I got a low tire
Good for you🤣 change that oil ole son lololol
I had 260k on my 05 x-runner when some A-hole T-boned it 😢
Ouch thats to bad
Yeaa I'm about to hit 200,000 on my 2006 Mazda
My 2003 Toyota tundra 365k miles still on the road
Your tire is low on air...
The sensor is probably dead. They don’t last 300K miles 🤣
You better hope your foot is on the clutch ready to push it down if that box hangs up on some thing, that tractor will flip over back wards in just a second. You need trailer or even skids under the box, and be hooked up to draw bar below axle level.
These old tractors definitely lack some of the safety features that the modern ones do
Light work for a Tacoma. My 95’ had 362k when I sold it.
This one has earned its keep! From pulling overweight loads to offroading it just keeps on:)
I had 316,000 on my Honda civic but she was leaking coolant all the time so I bought another. A 2007 Toyota Camry for only $4900, perfect condition. I think this was like 4-5 years ago. People better start buying these used 2000’s cars, you know all the new cars aren’t gonna last worth a damn due to Planned Obsolescence, and soon the price for used cars will increase even more than they have already.
It's getting hard to find good prices that's for sure
seriously. i got the 2011 toyota camry exact same car pretty much. she’s only at 140k. all i’ve done other than normal maintenance is a valve cover gasket that i did yesterday. i drive 350mile round trip to michigan like every 2-3 months. people better scoop these up before they all die. hoping mine runs for another 10 years
yeah baby
Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉
I would’ve missed it on purpose maybe next time
You may wanna check the tire pressures…
One of the sensors went bad a few years ago
The o2 sensors and the tire sensors are the main causes 99% of the time for the tire pressure light and cheack engine for Toyotas
Yep I agree.
@@NEWROCK717 I had a Tacoma back in the day and was pulling my hair out trying to figure out why there was an alarm... The spare tire had a sensor in it and it had gone flat
@pepperonish that's what mine did lol
Weres the harbor freight drill probably work better than dewalt lol 😂
Can't afford it lol
