There is a BBC version made more than 50 years ago. Much more faithful to the novel. Can watch on RUclips. Includes the young Kenneth Branagh before he became famous.
"The extraordinary unreality was frightening; but it was also exciting. Going to the Lighthouse. But what does one send to the Lighthouse? Perished. Alone."
Am reading it at the moment and loving it. This trailer is a beautiful tribute to Virginia Woolfe's moving, poetic, ingenious, unique masterpiece 'To The Lighthouse'. What she could do with language was incredible. I'm sure she would have appreciated this cinematic homage.
