How to restore and repair a windshield wiper switch on a 1970 Chevelle
I had two windshield wiper switches that were causing me issues. One switch had all the mode settings reversed, and the other would get stuck switching between modes. I decided to take them both apart and have them both ready.

Просмотров 16 тыс.4 года назад
The process and method of adjusting and aligning the front and rear windows on a 1970 A Body GM car. This is the first time I did this alone. Before I would depend on my dad (car builder) to help me with projects like this. This time I wanted to launch out and try it alone with no help. I wasn't able to cover all the details; however, I wanted to give a good overview of the process and steps it...
How to connect and wire auxiliary gauges on a 1970 Chevelle
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.4 года назад
This is not a video on how to completely install auxiliary gauges from start to finish. I didn't want to cover all the details; I've seen some great videos already on RUclips that fully cover everything. I just wanted to cover the different connection points and a brief overview of how to correctly connect the gauges depending on your application.

How to replace quarter window molding in a 1970 Chevelle
Просмотров 16 тыс.4 года назад
I had to replace the chrome window molding and weatherstripping insert on my car. It ended up being more problematic than I thought. I ended up trying three different types of window seals; and, I found that the .045" thick glass setting tape was the best option. My goals were to not damage the window and to avoid removing the window.
How to add an Auxiliary Fuse Box on a 1970 Chevelle
Просмотров 5 тыс.4 года назад
So I needed to connect more than one accessory on my car, so I decided to add an auxiliary fuse box for my accessories. I wanted a clean look, safe installation, and a consistent flow of power. I figured running the panel through a relay would give me exactly what I wanted. I've never done a project like this; so, part of this project was to gain the learning experience and challenge myself to ...

What amp relay are you using?
What engine mounts did you use to install?
The fact is that even though distributor looks alike. They're not. There are differences in diameter at that bore from and to the housings. And because they're different materials they expand at a different rate. I took a distributor from another big block and installed it into the other drove the car. Had no oil pressure in 30 minutes. It took me 30 minutes to change the distributor to another and problem solved. Do you know how many people throughout the years have complained about bbc oils pressure issues. They all want hei or electronic ignition. I put my points back in, working perfectly
I need to replace this on my 67 impala 4 dr hardtop but i cant find any listing for a 4 door rear window size, its all quarter windows for 2 doors.
You didnt do anything
If I had someone on the outside and someone on the inside with the door closed, couldn't you loosen up most or all adjusting points, align the window, and then sung up the adjustments? Then, do fine tuning if needed, or should it only be adjusted one adjustment at a time? Thanks
greetings. what are the specs (vehicle year, model, etc) for the side view mirrors you have installed? thanks.
Thank you Manny! Super helpful video!
When i was young we just used a long screw driver with the handle cut off in a drill . It worked well for us .
great video. very helpful. What type of connector did you use to connect your signal wire to the glass fuse? Also in your original fuse box did you connect it between the glass fuse and the metal clip or somewhere else?
I bought that same tool and my engine wouldn't prime either
The reason you were not getting oil on the right bank is because the oil passes around that groove to feed the right bank
Thank you!
I always repaint the speedometer and gas gauge needle, bright orange/red... Makes a huge difference.
Great idea! Do you know if the clear plastic can be cleaned using this process? Thanks
@@gregpeterson4945 Clear lens cleaning... Colgate toothpaste or headlight lens cleaner works great for me, inside and out. Worst case, buy a piece of clear plastic and cut to size and shape, Ive dont that several times on old cars or trucks
WILL A 396 MOTOR BOLT UP WHERE A 350 MOTOR WAS BOLTED UP TO THE TRANSMISSION A 350 TRANSMISSION
The cheapest fix is the right fix the first time.
Don’t see a link.
Nicely done!!!
Try tightening up the priming tool in your drill.its pretty obvious is slipping in the drill chuck.
The first one is slipping in the drill chuck… Losing pressure… The borrowed one is eating up your drill chuck…. Getting the pressure but at the cost of your drill chuck… Make sure you buy one with the three flats on the drill end… I know it’s old but maybe it’ll help somebody.
Well that explains why mine was $10 lol helped me a lot cus I noticed it was eating up the tool. Gonna get a better one
Just gri N just grind teeth off old distributer, weld tall hex nut to top of shaft.been using mine for many years.
I just have to say Thank you for saying you don’t know why 1 priming tool works better than another! So many RUclipsrs are scared to say “I don’t know” so they give crap information. This can cause problems for those seeking solutions! So thank you for being honest!
Manny this is your last vid ! Where are you ? its been 3 years
last time i put a BB with a 400 trans and no need for adjustment bar on top ! Just a chain it has enough room !
Awesome build , life happens but ya gotta keep moving!
Why did you skip the most important part?
can u do tha for me on 1970 Monte carlo??? I pay ur job
Don not use the Proform primer tool most parts stores sells it actually blocks off the oil port.
Really good video thank you. Yes! An old distributor is the way to go.
so there's no spring inside the metal cup, I just saw another video for a Vega column and the guy said there was a spring in there, thank you for the detailed video
where did u get the adjustable bar that u used to put the engine in? tks
Harbor freight
Thanks. I’m facing the same issue and job on my old car. Looks like some work.
It’s a lot easier when the glass isn’t in the car yet.
Thanks for the vid. I’m doing this on my 72 Chevelle
I was able to pull the seal over the pins by taking the shaft over to my sink and ran very hot water on the rubber seal and it slide down over the pins one side at a time. It worked that way. I previously had replaced the seal on my other classic a 70 442 but I had to take it to a shop that had a press to get the pin out and then press it back on. That shop charged me a shop charge for an hour labor which was about 125.00. I was planning on doing the same thing again but one of my car buddies gave me this idea to run hot water over the seal and it worked.
hey love the color do you mind sharing the grey color code?
I need remplace a fuse box on my 1970 Monte Carlo any body know how to install ...I live in North California????
can u do tha on my car
You shouldn't run un-fused powered wire into the cabin of the vehicle. The wire should be routed directly to the back of a fuse block or relay center on the engine firewall side.
Where did you get the boot? I’ve been looking for one for my squarebody I guess they are the same but I can’t find it online. Anywhere!
I was recommended buying one for a 1976 jeep cj5. From crown. Don't waste your time. I can't find one for mine either. (1983 c10)
@@fortyseven1832 I gave up. I just ordered of for a xj jeep. I read they bolt right in. No mods needed
OPGI has them in stock.

Had the same tool, oil very slowly came up most pushrods. The problem is the dimension of the two machined surfaces that form the oil channel is too small. I cleaned them up and wrapped a thin strip of duct tape around each journal. Trial and error till it fit snug in the block,my oil pressure jumped from 20 to 40 . Oil came up to all pushrods right away
what was your final oil pressure and what oil do you use?
How does the big bell come off the shaft?
There's a retainer clip that holds the boot inside the bell.
all these classic cars should say made in china because cheap asses buy crap
useless video doesn't tell you how to take them off
oh yea why does your thumb look like a toe lol
Thank you for the video, it was very helpful. Although I only beat on the pin a few times, the Bottle Jack press solution is epic, or buying a full new telescoping shaft that fits both G and F Bodies. I did not know there was a difference between the G and F for this basic part. Who would have thought? Also, buying one with an inferior bell housing made everything harder. This has been one of the most challenging things I have had to do for the restoration of my 1979 GMC Cabellero. TheHumanSwissArmyKnife
Mine is resetting the off/closure cycle, lowering into hidden position, over an over in the off position as soon as I turn on the ignition? And it is doing it while in both low and high speed operation?? Is the switch bad? Or do I have another issue?
I ordered a priming tool online and it keeps slipping
I have the ARP primer. That and rotating the engine works great
I'm having the problem with oil not coming through one rocker arm
Make sure that lifter is not adjusted too tight? It needs to be able to spin in the bore
How do you disconnect the wiring from the sweep?
The 69 camaro switch are the exact same. Had to find your video just to learn on your take off the knob.
