Robert was a right prick!
The guy who made his family live in the small three bedroom house, so he could do his art was just being shelfish!
dope, glad i found this thanks for uploading
Does anyone know what the homemade drink is he has with Robert? I can't quite understand what he is saying.
Thank you very much. It was a fun excursion. I'm an artist so I can appreciate everything you presented. Strangley enough in was in Chandigahr in 1990 and I remembered the garden. That time much smaller but a spiritual site, I thought. The figures were not present nor the waterfall. I'm happy for Nick Chand that he could experience his success in his lifetime. Again. It was a great journey.
Thanks Jarvis, you’ve been a great guide. From a fellow Sheffield lad.❤
This series is too good.
Wow, this is great. I loved Pulp back in my adolescence when 'A Different Class' came out. I don't recall seeing this at the time but I'm very happy to have found it now. Jarvis was brilliant!
Lovely
🙏🤍
Robert Garcet....genius, remarkably similiar to Mark E Smith's work ethos and taking no shit from the stifliing establishment stronghold on the arts. Great series, episode #3 easily the best!!
this is so beautiful on so many levels! thank you for uploading
38:24 anyone know the song’s name?
Its 'Rain' by the Beatles.... ruclips.net/video/cK5G8fPmWeA/видео.html
Thank you, I know a few outsider artists but I learned some new. ♥
When I first watched this series ( whenever that was ) I thought it was so good I assumed Jarvis was about to carve out a new career for himself as a documentary journalist. I feel a bit disappointed that he didn't do more as I think he was one of the most idiosyncratic presenters since Fyfe Robertson, or Ray Gosling - both original and engaging. How about it, Jarvis ?
i'm confused, he did not live in France in 1998, right? I've read his interview (2009) and he said " I'm not fluent and after six years I should be. People go on language courses and they can speak a language after a year. I haven’t applied myself." But here he DOES speak fluently. WTF😄
well I think calling his halting efforts to communicate fluent is a bit of stretch - he can make himself understood, but it's pretty clear he struggle for words and I'm pretty sure his word order and declension is a bit off. I should know, I'm at about the same level.
Salvation Mountain.......only bought 5 tins of paint ! Just 5 tins ! Jarvis Cocker is a prick !
Does nobody else think Jarvis is a bit of a prick ? Not a complete prick - just a bit of one .... Edit : "bonjour Mr Chomo..." Say no more
Great show with Jarvis. Sad that it's over.
Good second episode.
A great show with Jarvis. I can imagine watching this back then on tv, on a saturday in summer, even though it never happened. Gotta give it to channel 4 or whoever edited the show for not putting the music in the credits. But of course with todays tech, I've used a program to instantly find the song I wanted to hear.
Outsider art is BS, that's what they call my art, Art is Art is Art is.................................
Nobody TOLD the great painters...Rembrandt etc to BE artists. What a misinformed twit this J.C. is...He is the last person to comment on art...for, as an anarchist ...as he has no understanding of it. Why does he call the wonderful creation at 17mins Outsider Art.? Art is art...no insidesers or outsiders. I can't watch anymore of this nonsense. And my I say..JC is no work of art himself lol!
You don’t ask an artist who paints, “why do you paint?”. He does because he’s compelled to do it. A form of creative expression. He’s creating a beautiful environment. Simple.

Thank you Jarvis.
Thank you for these; I saw the first 2 when they were broadcast and thought they were lost forever.
Would be nice with eng subs 😥
How have I missed this until now?! I love this journey to and through Outsider Art. I’m looking forward to the other postings.
this is a real gem.
Jarvis the person of multitalent
Watched episode 1 last night and here's ep. #2. Is youtube getting better?
Salvation Mountain isn't far from Slab City,, a site Jarvis could've frequented afterwards.
It's odd how the sweeper's stepson showed how he didn't think much of the man. He probably is living off the money that the sweeper left behind. Judging a man's sanity by whether he kept money or not. Money is the exact cause of today's global insanity. Sweeper might have just done the most sane thing by throwing money into the tip.
I really enjoyed this. Thank you.
9:43 Doctor Robotnik
i hope the dog at 27:29 is ok
Really enjoyed this video. Excellent and thank you for sharing.
I love this SO much. It gives me faith in humanity. Everyone should follow their dreams.
GOT THE TICKET'S FROM SOME FUCKED GUY IN CAMDEN TOWN
HI JAVIS ARE YOU STILL SORTED FOR E'S AND WHIZZ ?
I have respect for people who have a vision and stand by that.
My main man Jarvis
its not Gods message
there was place like the shell house near my house as child called the Buckie House which I loved very much sadly gone now. All things come to pass in the world thankfully! I would have loved to meet the man who died in the 80s his art was wonderful.
Not sure if this will reach anyone, but there was an old man who lived on the corner of Quincy and Gates in Brooklyn NY who build a crazy tower of junk that soared into the sky like a church spire. I believe his name was Arthur. They filmed the Dave Chappelle's Block Party movie on this corner. Many times the NYC building inspectors tried to tear it down but found no reason to since it was not deemed a hazard. Eventually it was torn down along with several other buildings in this neighborhood. Anyway.
You've reached at least 13 people.
Make that 14...awesome....glad to see it
Amazing! Is there any footage of it?
I'm so happy that Nek Chand snuck into Le Corbusiers dream - 'A house is a machine for living.' It is the perfect revenge for all those ill interpreted ideas on tower block living in the UK.
mans face lights up and the vibe totally changes upon receiving the brandy offering :DD
It was a charming moment, and very nice of Jarvis. I quite like Jarvis.
@@JagBetty yeah he's a good egg for sure ^_^
I noticed that!
Spellbound and in awe of Javis' voice and narration... his Wireless Nights BBC podcasts are also amazing
Gods gift to mankind
