I didn’t understand the question

@@litebeet I’m using Ableton Live, and I’m kind of confused. I’ve collected many sample packs for different genres. Can I use, for example, synth one-shots or Reese bass one-shots all the time, or should I learn to use a synth plugin instead? When I try to change the pitch of a one-shot, it seems to lose its original sound. What would you recommend? I also have Serum, but I often get lost in all the presets and sample packs.

Well using one-shot samples for almost everything (synth, plucks, leads, piano and other instruments) is so wrong. You have to avoid using one-shots as much as possible, only use it when needed, for example some loops that don’t need midi mapping or if you find it rare. Otherwise always use a synthesizer plugin to avoid bad quality sounds. Because synthesizer makes specific high quality and balanced sounds for each key and tone. For the DAW, it doesn’t matter which one you use, i’ve been on FL Studio for too long but I understand the Music Theory and I’m familiar with sounds so when i moved to Ableton i just needed to know how the UI works and within a week i learned everything I needed to learn.

Most Ableton content creators are either live performers or producers focused on genres like techno and afro house. They often focus on explaining what Ableton devices do instead of demonstrating the actual song-making process. I think this is not ideal because you learn so little and miss the bigger picture of how to create music.

7 years now . Well i’m just like you but instead of being afraid you have to improve yourself, “music theory” is the key for success. You have to feel the music and the sounds not just put some random notes that you don’t even know what they mean or need , feel the music . That way you’ll be the master. Me , i’m not a master or anything because I stopped learning the theory and didn’t practice producing because of laziness, you will always need “effort” and “music knowledge” if you want to become a known musician ❤️ Also by 7 years i meant the start of the music stuff till now , if you want a total time of my music career it wouldn’t be more than a year.
