Thanks, Tobi! I highly recommend checking out the album. Tool fans give the band/music a bad name, but the band is definitely worth exploring. Danny Carey is a master-level drummer.

Thanks, Brendan, that's high praise. I left the snares a bit loose for the Tool covers to try and replicate Danny's half snare/half tom sound. I tightened it back up for the Monday'Wednesday stuff.

@@Phoenix_420_ it varies from song. Most of these Tool songs take a couple days, which means I’ll practice them about 7 or 8 times before filming them. Certain parts require more focus, for instance the hi-hat part late in the song was something I worked on all by itself for a few weeks. The cover of “Burn” by NIN was something I practiced for months because the way I played it was so technically demanding. Some songs I literally play for the first time as I’m filming them. But mostly, like 95% of the time, I give ‘em a couple days.

I primarily use Yamahas, the Ludwigs are from my spare kit (though I do love 'em). I have a DW pancake gong drum that sounds great, but I'm with you about their kits in general. Very overrated.
