May Day ca. 1952; Restored from low rez VHS tape copy of 16mm film
One day, I hope my friend springs to get his 16mm films professionally cleaned and restored to 2K. Then magic will happen, and he'll be able to enjoy what was filmed when he was a tyke.
I don't think May Day is a thing anymore since, iirc, it was associated with the old Soviet Union Labor/Socialist regime. But when I was a small boy, dancing around the May Pole was a thing. The USA Labor Day (altogether different) is a holiday celebrated in September each year. Please correct me if I'm wrong on this brief explanation.

Thanks for posting this. Was at USAF High Wycombe AS, '67-'69, enjoyed watching dancers on TV. I predated Mystery Girl by several years. Do think she was quite stunning in her quiet way. Wonder where she is today.

I have cancer and other health trouble so I have nurses always asking my birthdate. When I tell them 1959 I tell them I'm one of the lucky ones. I grew up with cool cars and the best music.

Something very off about this guy (assume it's a guy). Obsessing over this girl is not normal, sharing that obsession on YT is a whole different illness, and demanding no one talks about what he (she) is very obviously thinking is another level! Not obsessing, for heaven's sake. She and I are about the same age. I simply enjoyed watching all of the vintage TOTP shows and dancers. She caught my eye. I made videos of her. She was singled out by many, many more before I did. I went with that. She was popular and fun to watch. Thousands of others agree. I'm not alone in wondering what became of her. It's kinda like the 'Sloopy Girl'. Simply a mystery.

Yes, you will see that. All the various TOTP clips I show are from different air dates in Jan. and Feb. 1970. I did mix some different songs with the clips in several instances. Gotta have some flavor, if you will, because one can only do so much with what is available.

I must say, I was astounded by that photo at 2:44 of Flick aged 10. She looks so mature, it's amazing. I have never seen that one before. Also the two photos in her school year book from 1964 are really cool too. I have many Flick pics on my lap top but have never come across these ones. Many thanks for uploading them. I love the photos of her mother too. She was a natural beauty, and Flick definitely got those stunning looks from her mother.

@Hiwynds, many have inquired about her. Her name was Deborah, and she passed away about 5 or so years ago. This info was given to us by her husband who informed all on another channel that had the original Canned Heat video.
@terrycushway3248, I was made aware of your comment, but apparently it was removed. Many feel the same way about the fast-food industry, but actually, we had those in abundance during those years and we frequented them often. The difference is that back then we had physical activities to keep fit. There are more physical activities and establishments for that today but are not utilized proportionately for people. Plus, I believe that there are many non-natural ingredients added to food these days that negatively affect one's health. (All my opinion, of course)

Australia got TV in 1956 and we had the first TV in the street (my dad had a furniture making factory). Crusader Rabbit was a very early memory along with Walt Disney's Disneyland. All this and a love of car culture, fuelled a desire to live in the USA, a dream I realized in 1996. Now both my kids and all grandkids live in the USA although now I spend most of my time in back in Australia. Little things that spark a change in life's direction ......
Very insightful, Kerry. You fulfilled a dream. Like I said before, Australia is one of countries on my bucket list that I want to visit. I'm fairly fascinated with its rich history and beautiful countryside. Speaking of Disney, I was lucky enough to have a dyed-in-the-wool Davy Crocket outfit, complete with coonskin cap. Age 5 school photo ... I had that on, but they made me take off the cap😁
I believe Crusader Rabbit was the first cartoon series made expressly for television. I remember it from the early 60's along with all the Warner's stuff and especially the very weird Colonel Bleep series! Just amazing story-telling and visuals. (not to wander too much off topic, but this cartoon package was sold to syndication along with the others throughout the New York area in the 50's, and I'm sure a young Flick Colby was one of the many kids watching!)
